As part of America Saves Week 2013, scheduled for February 25 – March 2, 2013 Bank of Botetourt is spreading the saving message, and urging communities to participate in America Saves Week.

America Saves Week is coordinated by America Saves and the American Savings Education Council. Started in 2007, the week is an annual opportunity for organizations to promote good savings behavior and a chance for individuals to assess their own saving status. Typically thousands of organizations participate in the week, reaching millions of people.

The 2012 Annual National Survey Assessing Household Savings (released during America Saves Week 2012) revealed that having a savings plan with specific goals can have beneficial financial effects. “America Saves Week provides a great opportunity to help our communities set a goal, make a plan, and save automatically. It’s our way of encouraging individuals and families to save and build personal wealth,” said Lyn Hayth, President & CEO of Bank of Botetourt.

To help people save more successfully and encourage more people to save, Bank of Botetourt will provide a special offer for new savings and checking accounts during America Saves Week. Details regarding the promotion are provided at www.bankofbotetourt.com. Also, follow Bank of Botetourt on Facebook for savings tips throughout the week.    –Shay Stevens
