Bank of Fincastle is proud of its community bank tradition. On March 19, students from LBHS and JRHS participated in Bank Day that celebrates the positive effects community banks have in their communities. The participants are: Alex Caldwell, Olivia Williamson, Whitney Bolton, Meagan Catron, Grace Boardwine and Heather Ward. BOF VP Jay Gilliand who led the day, noted that he, Sandra Craft and Mike Jasper all began working at the bank in high school.
The students will participate in VBA’s Scholarship essay contest. Said Boardwine, “It has been nice to see how a bank operates. Though I will be in a different field, I see how loans and other bank transactions work that will be important in my future.”
