Gary Osborne of Daleville developed a beautiful garden of daylilies and hostas, babbling brooks and pure serenity on his property dring the past 20 years. His efforts are called Glebe Hill Gardens where over 1,400 varieties of daylilies bloom and 800 varieties of hostas cover the shade part of the hillside as well. The retired stock broker has created a lush green and colorful environment.
That effort has been noticed in a big way this summer. In August, “Virginia Living,” featured Osborne’s gardens. He quoted Julie Covington of the National Daylily Society as saying, ” It is one of the premiere daylily gardens in the country.” Indeed!
Osborne is thrilled to announce that “Virginia Gardener” has featured Glebe Hill Gardens in the September Issue. Bus tours and hundreds, if not over a thousand tourists, have visited his gardens over a month long span this summer and every summer. The seven page spread has beautiful photos as well.
Osborne believes the gardening honor is helping put Botetourt County on the map with another group of interested followers. Congrats to Glebe Hill Gardens!
