Lord Botetourt hosts Richlands tonight. James River, which last weekend travelled up I-81 to East Rockingham, tonight travels down I-81 to Fort Chiswell.
Here’s what weather journalist Kevin Myatt of the Weather Journal says fans should expect weather-wise:
We’re headed for a wet Saturday. That means Friday night will have a chance of showers, though likely not a widespread, all-evening washout. Taking your umbrella or rain gear would probably be a good idea Friday night. Temperatures will be in the 70s falling into the 60s. The bulk of the rain arrives for college football games on Saturday.
UPDATED, 12:36 P.M.: We’ve been watching a long, narrow “rain train” from northern W.Va. to the Roanoke Valley this morning. It is expected this band of rain will eventually disperse into some showers by late afternoon, but it hasn’t shown much sign of doing so yet, as of midday. The forecast at this point remains a chance of scattered showers tonight at high school games, but locations under this narrow band will have wet, soggy grounds to deal with, at the least. Locations to the west and east of the rain band have stayed mostly dry.
This weekend, we’re expecting photos from both games, so check back from those. Or you can share your own at firstname.lastname@example.org or use the “share” button to upload 10 at a time.
