On Friday, May 11, the Read Mountain Middle School Friends of Rachel club sponsored a “come-back” dance from 6 to 8 p.m. Students were invited to return to school to dance underneath hundreds of twinkling lights while dressed in their Sunday best. This was the first event of its kind, and the turnout and reaction on the part of the students was very positive. Everyone involved, from the student dancers to the teacher and parent chaperones, had a fantastic time! The F.O.R. club is coordinated by Summer Underwood, and she and the club members do several activities throughout the year to offer positive experiences for all middle school students. We hope this dance will become an annual May tradition at RMMS!

Members from Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Mission Team are participating in a mission trip to the Standing Rock Indian Reservation at Tipi Wakan in South Dakota this summer. This annual trip is sponsored by the Roanoke Valley Baptist Association. The team will be doing significant maintenance repairs to buildings on the Reservation, holding a Bible School and providing school supplies for the children, and holding craft opportunities for the adults. The team will be holding a Yard Sale to assist with fund raising efforts for this trip which is planned the last week of July. The Yard Sale will be held on Saturday, May 19 from 8AM until 2:00PM at Dr. Vest’s Dentist Office in Daleville beside Lord Botetourt High School. The funds raised will help with the expenses of the trip, including transportation and purchase of items for this Mission endeavor. We have a variety of items for sale including household items, flowers, toys, and clothes. We appreciate your support in the past and look forward to seeing you at this event again this year. If you would like to donate items for our yard sale it is not too late to do so. Please call Dan and Barbara Zicafoose at (540) 473-3834 or David and Trudy Musselwhite at (540) 992-4451. Thank you for your continued support of our Mission Endeavors.
