SGA members resign

Two members of the Student Government Association at Radford University resigned their posts this week.

Robert Lataille, who students elected as their president in Spring 2007, said a judicial probation led to his resignation. He said it stemmed from allegations he stole $1.50 worth of office supplies.

The SGA vice president of student finance also resigned her position.

Regis McKoy and Juliann Abercrombie have been promoted to those spots through a student senate vote.

Both students who resigned are still enrolled at Radford.

Campus love, a kind of burning, itching sensation. But, you know in a good way.

Public VT concert tickets on sale

About 5,000 tickets to "A Concert for Virginia Tech" will go on sale Tuesday to the general public. Sales of the $65 tickets will be hosted by MusicToday.com and each person can get up to four tickets.

The Dave Matthews Band, John Mayer, Phil Vassar and Nas all have donated their time to perform the Sept. 6 show at Lane Stadium. It's an attempt to bring some peace to the university community.

But, that doesn't mean the concert won't cost some money to put together. The public tickets, along with corporate sponsorships are expected to pay for some of the cost.

More than 45,000 Tech students, staff and faculty have signed up for free tickets and some first responders to the April 16 shootings will get tickets, according to a Tech news release.

Online forum to talk about campus security

The day after holding a statewide conference on campus security, Gov. Tim Kaine's office announced the creation of a web site where "members of the Virginia college community," can discuss campus security.

Go here for more information and to register to have access to the site.

The governor's panel on the Virginia Tech shootings is expected to release a fairly thick report on the work it's done this summer in the next week or two and Tech's own internal review is also scheduled for completion soon.

Security is one of many topics expected to be covered in those reports. This forum seems to be an attempt to keep the conversation fluid and share information more between universities.

Greek - Episode 6

Did tonight's episode even have a point? Where was the college-themed lesson we've grown to love and expect?

Maybe in two months I'd buy the creepy, Halloween-style show, but odds are even against that.

If it were midterms, tonight's episode would mean some serious extra credit for Greek's creators. It was like the Scooby gang (yes, Velma and Fred, not Buffy and Xander) trotted off to frat row.

But, I'll give ya the breakdown nonetheless ...

Kappa Tau's annual blowout hinges on a busted volcano (which Cappie decides is worse than the "Odoul's mishap" of 2005).
