Greek returns to TV

Greek, the show that college students loved to hate, is returning just as the semester starts to wind down.

ABC Family's latest attempt to reach a more hip audience, gave America a fictionalized behind-the-scenes of today's college students and the Greek system.

Here at Campus Watch, we gave you a little synopsis of each new episode. You can review that here. Otherwise, the first season comes out on DVD March 18.

Greek Finale

I remember a lot of drama during my first semester at college, but I'm not sure it was quite like this. Then again, I wasn't Greek.

But, I must admit during the past few months, I've been impressed, even if actual Greeks were not.

I'll start with this week's episode. I figure any show that puts actors from Ferris Bueller and Buffy, the Vampire Slayer is ok with me.

Here's the final breakdown ... until 2008 for the next semester.

Greek - Episode 8

Campus love, a kind of burning, itching sensation. But, you know in a good way.

Wise words from our favorite hungover frat boy whose idea of drowning his sorrows includes strippers.

Here's the breakdown for Episode 8 as it explored the theme that tugs at every young person's heart: relationships.

Greek - Episode 7

OK, admit it. You cried.

The sappy, "who will Casey choose" storyline was bound to pull at the heartstrings of any {girl] who has been conflicted in love.

Or, something like that.

Here's episode 7's breakdown ...

Greek - Episode 6

Did tonight's episode even have a point? Where was the college-themed lesson we've grown to love and expect?

Maybe in two months I'd buy the creepy, Halloween-style show, but odds are even against that.

If it were midterms, tonight's episode would mean some serious extra credit for Greek's creators. It was like the Scooby gang (yes, Velma and Fred, not Buffy and Xander) trotted off to frat row.

But, I'll give ya the breakdown nonetheless ...

Greek - Episode 5

Our little boy's all grown up, and committing felonies for the sake of a solid party.

But, at least Rusty went home from tonight's episode with an obligatory heart-to-heart with coconut-bra clad sis... and a hot girl.

Here's episode 5's breakdown ...

Kappa Tau's annual blowout hinges on a busted volcano (which Cappie decides is worse than the "Odoul's mishap" of 2005).

Greek - Episode 3

Sin. Temptation. Fun stuff like that.

Dale, the religious roommate summed tonight's episode perfectly.

Here's my breakdown ...

It's social time for the Greeks. The ZBZ girls hosted a "military mixer" with the Omega Chis (with pledge Calvin's hard-core interest hinting that he might outed soon).

Check out your friendly neighborhood reviewer talk up Greek on Timescast, the Roanoke Times' daily Web cast.

And, just think, if you share your thoughts about the show, they might get aired for the world to see.

Greek - Episode 2

Oh, the conniving.

Our favorite college kids are at it again, and it's only episode 2.

So, here's the latest breakdown ...

Casey, still angry that her boyfriend, Evan, slept with pledge Rebecca, plots to push her from Zeta Beta Zeta, with some classic Greek hazing.

"Greek" - Episode 1

Life at Cyprus-Rhodes University is predictable, to say the least.

Here’s the breakdown …

Geeky wanna-be frat boy Rusty Cartwright hopes to boost his dull life by joining a fraternity. His sister, “it” sorority girl Casey is poised to take over her Greek organization, Zeta Beta Zeta.

Of course, Casey’s current beau (Evan) and ex (Cappie) each rules their respective frats, Omega Chi and Kappa Tau.

The premiere of ABC Family’s new “dramedy” leaves us with a burning question.

Which one will offer the geeky brother a bid?

"Greek" TV show

College. It’s a rush.

At least that’s what ABC family wants you to believe. It’s the tagline for its new series, "Greek, " which premieres Monday night at 9. The new show follows the lives of Greeks, wanna-be Greeks and your average college stereotypes at a fake university.
