August 1, 2006Private college week in VirginiaVirginia's private colleges are hosting open house events for prospective college students and their parents this week: July 31 to Aug. 5. The programs will include campus tours, financial aid and admissions workshops and program overviews. The colleges are providing an incentive for families looking for a deal. If you visit at least three of the participating colleges, the application fees for your choice of three private Virginia colleges will be waived. (That amounts to about $100 of savings.) To find out more about the program, the Council of Independent Colleges in Virginia has a Web page with all the details. You can also see a list of all of the private colleges of Virginia, with links to each of their Web sites. |
