Stats from intrasquad scrimmage

Here are the stats from today’s intrasquad scrimmage. I will post quotes later; right now I am covering the UVa-Va. Tech women’s soccer game.

The Orange beat the Maroon 75-71.

For the Orange, Erick Green had 22 points. He was  8 of 21 from the field, including 3 of 5 from 3-point range, and had six assists.

Jarell Eddie added 15 points and 13 boards. He was 3 of 15 from the field, including 1 of 6 from 3-point range. He had five assists.

C.J. Barksdale added 16 points and 11 rebounds. He was 7 of 16 from the field. He also had five assists.

UNCW transfer Adam Smith, who is sitting out this season, had 14 points. He was 6 of 15 from the field, including 2 of 8 from 3-point range.

Walk-on Christian Beyer had eight points and 13 rebounds. He was 4 of 7 from the field.

The Oragne shot 36.8 percent from the field. Walk-on Joey Racer was scoreless.

For the Maroon, Cararian Raines had 20 points and 10 boards. He was 10 of 14 from the fiekd.

Marshall Wood, a freshman, added 18 points and 11 boards. He was 6 of 12 from the field, including 4 of 8 from 3-point range.

Robert Brown had 18 points. He wa 8 of 17 from the field, including 1 of 3 from 3-pt range.

Marquis Rankin had 4 poins. He was 2 of 12 from the field. He had seven assists. He was 0 of 4 from 3-pt range.

Walk-on Will Johnston had eight points. He was 3 of 10 from the field, including 2 of 9 from 3-pt range.

Walk-on Marcus Patrick had 3 pts and was 1 of 4 from the field. Walk-on candidate Greg Donlon had no points.

The Maroon was 42.9 percent from the field. The Maroon had 40 boards to the Orange’s 50.

    Thanks for posting the stats. Green will need to do better than 8-21 shooting if he truly hopes to be considered one of the best guards in the country, let alone the ACC. Still way early in the preseason though. I like the observations about JJ and his demeanor in practice. Go Hokies!

    Yikes! With all the hype and excitement over the uptempo game being installed, those numbers make you wonder if the players aren’t more interested in just taking the shot as opposed to making the shot.

    Poor FG shooting %, fast tempo games, 8 scholarship players before injuries, okay…

    Let’s hope nobody in the ACC knows how to take advantage of a poor shooting, undermanned team with an inexperienced head coach.
