NCAA rules on VT women’s player
The NCAA verdict has come down on Va. Tech women’s basketball player Uju Ugoka. She must indeed miss the first nine games of the season for committing an NCAA amateurism violation at one of her former junior colleges, meaning she must miss four more games.
Tech had been holding her out all season in anticipation of an NCAA punishment but had appealed to the NCAA that she be punished for fewer than nine games. NCAA said no.
So the two-time JUCO All-American won’t make her Tech debut till Dec. 22 against Wake Forest.

That’s how it goes, if you have something like this happen, and the player would have gone to a UConn, Baylor, Tenn (on the women’s side), or a UK, UNC, UCLA type (on the men’s side), all would have been swept away.
