NCAA rejects 2nd appeal on Ugoka
The NCAA has rejected Virginia Tech’s second appeal regarding women’s basketball player Uju Ugoka, so she will have to wait until Dec. 22 to make her Hokies debut.
The NCAA had declared the two-time junior-college All-American ineligible for the first nine games of this season for violating the NCAA’s amateurism rules. Tech made two appeals for an early ending to the penalty. If the latest appeal had been granted, Ugoka would have been permitted to play Sunday against Florida Gulf Coast. Instead, Sunday’s game will be the ninth and final game she must sit out.
The NCAA has ruled that Ugoka received an “impermissible benefit” while playing for her Florida junior college last season, according to Virginia Tech.

Thanks for the update. They sure do need her ASAP.Maybe she should have contatcted QB Simms @ UVA for some pointers on early qualifications pointers with the NCAA.
