GREAT story and great kid, GOD bless him and take care of him !
Ouch. I did not have this game down as a loss. I have already posted on here – I had the Hokies OOC number at 8-5, while they finished 9-4, which their early success was optimistically regarded on Dec 2nd by some on here as a hugely successful season, just ask some of my top 5 critics, especially those in Texas.
I even said in December the 3 games I missed in prediction out of the 13 final results. Unlike anybody else on here. In August, I had this down as a win. In Sept/Oct/Nov/Dec I had this down as a win. Yesterday, I had this down as a win.
I’ll reiterate my prediction from August on the final record of 12-20. Same in Sept/Oct/Nov/Dec, the same prediction. OOC was 8-5, ACC conference was 4-14, with a first round loss in the ACC tournament. other than one other poster, who I won’t sully by mentioning in the same breath as my ‘reviled’ truth, nobody else ever manned up since April about this season.
All credit goes to him, who’s not nearly as vocal on this particular blog as me – smart for him – but I’m out there, with shirt open. Nobody else walks that walk. Here I am, whistling, football or basketball, it doesn’t matter…

Ball movement on offense, and we got to REBOUND, dawg!
Erick Green won’t get it done by himself, like I said back as far as August. Full team commitment. Players being benched for not giving a sh… flip? Good for the coach, horrible that it is already at that point. That’s what happens when you’re more interested in Jim Weaver’s ‘family atmosphere’ than in building a program. Hug all the football coaches you want, that won’t win games in basketball. JW doesn’t care enough to understand, and this is what we have until spring of 2015.
Very good to hear the ‘place’ Chaney is in now. It seems like the untold backstory there is crucial to the Weaver/Greenberg relationship. That would be something to know that will probably never be revealed for public consumption. Here’s hoping that AC can forge a healthy future, whether it involves basketball or not.
