Wood a “long shot” to play Saturday

Hokies coach James Johnson isn’t expecting Marshall Wood, who has been out with a broken foot, to play in the Hokies’ next game Saturday against visiting Wake Forest.

“It’s definitely a long shot,” Johnson said today (Monday). “He won’t be with us this week. …. It’s week-to-week. … The healing process is going good, but he’s not ready to play.”

In other news, congratulations to the voice of the Hokies, Bill Roth, who was named today to the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame along with former Hokies great Cornell Brown, former Roanoke College great (and ex-Hokies coach) Frankie Allen, former JMU athletic director Dean Ehlers, former Richmond coach Dick Tarrant and a few others.
