No live telecast of Tech game Wed.
CSN announced Monday that it has dropped plans for a live telecast Wednesday of the Virginia Tech men’s basketball game at No. 5 Miami. Instead, the game will air on same-day tape at 10 p.m. on CSN.
The 7 p.m. game was originally scheduled to air live on CSN’s overflow channels, CSN Plus (including Cox Ch. 9) and Comcast Network.
But the regular CSN channel will now air Wednesday’s Washington Capitals game, which originally had been scheduled to air only on NBC Sports Network. With the Caps now on CSN, that pushes the Washington Wizards game from CSN over to CSN Plus/Comcast Network, and relegates the Hokies to a taped broadcast on the regular CSN channel.
As usual, the live ESPN3.com broadcast of the Tech game is blacked out in Virginia to give CSN exclusivity. It is not yet known if the Internet blackout will be lifted now that CSN’s telecast of the game will no longer be live.

It would be just my luck that Tech goes to Miami and pulls a shocker and I can’t watch it live. I think I read somewhere earlier this week Mark that you thought there was no hope of that happening, but hey, you just never know. If Green’s team mates give him the same kind of help they did Sunday against FSU anything is possible. I am forever the optimistic Hokie Fan….Go Hokies!!!!
Lame!
Why just mention something that CSN can’t do when at least 11 other satellite channels will be carrying it in real time?
