#3 Hd, I really don’t understand why Green stopped from going into the paint on that shot. He had the opening and leverage on the defender, before pulling back for a fallaway jumper. He could have gotten fouled (theoretically) and sunk the one FT we needed to go ahead. He could have scored a bucket. Plus And 1. The worst that could have happened was that he’d lose the ball. Instead, he gave us the fallaway airball. Puzzling…

Brown struggled again, 3 of 12. He is 26 of 112 in the last 13 games. 23%. What’s worse is he has been consitently bad over those games. When you realize he didn’t play in one of those games and went 3-5 in another, he’s actually 21% in 11 games. I can’t ever remember seeing a player go so cold for so long – especially a guy who was recruited as a shooter. I’m really starting to feel for the guy. He’s fighting to get to the basket but he’s so lightweight I think he just can’t compete around the rim. Cadarian was fighting hard under the basket which was good to see and Eddie hit a few key 3′s early despite a 6-15 performance.
You’re not going to win many games when you go 2-14 to end the game, but I think UNC benefited from a little referee home cooking. UNC went to the line 27 times vice VT’s 10 although some of that was OT intentional fouling. I thought Green was obviously fouled on several missed shots, but the refs ignored it.
All in all, a nice try on the road. Brown is going to hit >50% from the field from here out. You heard it here first.

Well again, as a team Tech can’t shoot which they optimized today by taking horrible shots. No blocking out, terrible half court offense and if I had $5 for every Brown turnover the wife and I could eat at the best restaurant in town. Raines showed some life on the blocks but still has to develop his skills. I know JJ has to have some type of half court offense he can run other than Green dribbling out front watched by 4 team mates until there is 10 seconds left on the clock. Greens poor shot choices just added to the mayhem. And begging for fouls, it ain’t going to happen. Do what you do and get what you get, sometimes the refs aren’t going to bail you out.

Hokies had exactly what they wanted at the end of regulation, and just couldn’t get the winning shot to go down. Truly let a quality win get away.

How can JJ say “we ran out of gas in the overtime”? These sorry chokies are like a JV team with only 1 star player. E Green gets used like a used tire and the chokies hope and pray that the tire doesn’t go flat because if it does this sorry team will lose every game they play. How can the beloved chokies play like this and still get love by the chokie nation?? I guess the chokies have an built in excuse there fired coach who looks like a fool on ESPN had nothing and JJ was left with nothing!! So the motto continues: “We only have 8 scholorship players!” We tried uhhhhhh!! Go chokies!!
