Clemson-VT preview capsule

I will have a big feature on Erick Green in tomorrow’s paper and on the website tomorrow, but for now here is the preview capsule on tomorrow’s game:

Men’s basketball

Saturday

Clemson at Virginia Tech

8 p.m. at Cassell Coliseum

Records: Clemson 13-14, 5-10 ACC; Virginia Tech 12-16, 3-12.

TV: CSN

Last meeting: Clemson won 77-70 at home on Jan. 27.

Va. Tech probable starters: F C.J. Barksdale (5.5 ppg), C Cadarian Raines (6.9 ppg), G Marquis Rankin (2.8 ppg), G Erick Green (24.9 ppg), G Will Johnston (2.3 ppg).

Clemson probable starters: F Damarcus Harrison (5.1 ppg), F Milton Jennings (10 ppg), C Devin Booker (12.9 ppg, 8 rpg), G Rod Hall (5.8 ppg), G Jordan Roper (5.1 ppg).

Notes: This will be the final home game for Green and senior walk-on Joey Racer. Clemson ruined Tech’s senior day in 2006 and 2007. … The Tigers have lost six of their past seven games. They were held under 60 points in each of the past six games. … Tech has been held under 60 points in five of the past seven games. … In last month’s meeting, Jennings had 28 points and Harrison 19 points. The Tigers sank 10 3-pointers. … K.J. McDaniels (10.7 ppg), who had 17 points and five 3-pointers in last month’s meeting, could miss his second straight game with a sprained ankle. … Booker did not score against Tech’s zone in last month’s meeting.

So this game will be the last home game for the one man offensive. So the chokie nation better hope that he shows and gives all what he has because it will be ashame to see the loyal chokie nation see their hero go down in flames like the sorry chokies this season!! After all the chokies did win a game 2 back but got crushed by Miami!! So if the one man offensive shows up he alone can keep the chokies in it but like others were saying/hinting that the beloved over hyped chokies are mailing it in they will lose like normal!! I do hope to see that arena called cassell full or tell the video dept to not pan around because the holes shown makes the chokie nation backs look foolish because they can run their mouths and yet won’t show up and back the beloved chokies!!! Go Chokies!!!

No ACC schools did. He picked UNC Asheville over High Point and Richmond.
