I recently talked with Cadarian Raines, who looks a bit leaner these days.
“We ran all offseason,” he said. “Everyone got in shape. I’m around the same weight, but I think I cleaned it up and it’s more muscle now. I’m at 238 right now. Last year I was about 245. I’m about the same size this year, but it’s probably more muscle, less fat.
“I’m going to be able to run harder and longer and be able to be more aggressive longer this year.
“We’re in the best shape of our lives right now. … We’re a better team this year. We’ve just got to prove it.”
You can take a look at Raines and his teamates Friday at the Orange & Maroon Scrimmage. The intrasquad scrimmage, which will be open to the public, will take place at Cassell Coliseum following the 7 p.m. VT-BC volleyball match. Both the scrimmage and the volleyball are free.
