I have a soft spot in my heart for East Tennessee State University grads (class of ’99 here — 1899). McCormick, who studied bluegrass music at ETSU’s music department, is more than just a fellow alum. She’s an ETSU grad who has a record deal with Ryko and a good new album, “Honest Words,” scheduled for release soon. McCormick performs Friday night at the Mill Mountain Zoo’s Zoo Do fundraiser. About this blog

cutNscratch is The Roanoke Times music blog. Music reporter Tad Dickens enjoys pickin' and grinnin' and drummin', and he likes to write about music, too. He'll post plenty about local, regional and national music, but it won't be any fun at all if you don't jump in and have your say. So do it! | Read more about Tad.
