Sean Deel, drummer for Bad Casper (and son of retired Roanoke Times photographer/editor Wayne Deel) has turned his attention to helping out young players.

His Sean Deel Foundation aims to “create healthy communities by promoting and providing the inherent benefits of drumming to all facets of society. The Foundation assists and helps with providing the right equipment to students of all ages as well as assists with the creation of educational programs and lessons that promote and encourage the art of drumming,” Deel wrote in an e-mail at facebook.com.

In late February, he will be featured in Drum! magazine’s “new blood” section.
