Christie Lenee live at Awful Arthur’s Towers, playing “Evolution Part 1″
Christie Lenee has been stopping frequently in the valleys lately. It’s a good stop on her travels between her base in Philadelphia and her hometown, Tampa, Fla. We’re lucky to have her here — she is an outstanding guitarist of melodic depth and technical intensity.
Lots of Lenee’s songs are a sort of intense breeze pop style, and her strong and rangy singing is suited for it. But where she shines most is with her solo compositions. There, she mixes two-handed legato finger tapping, shimmering harmonics and a willingness to beat her guitar like a drum. Add to that some tasteful looping, and you’ve got something worth hearing.
Here, she performs a solo piece, “Evolution Part 1,” on Wednesday at Awful Arthur’s Towers. If you’re in Floyd tonight, catch her live at Dogtown Roadhouse. Get show details and hear a podcast at Top Tickets.
