“Retro Roanoke Radio” this Sunday to feature interview with former Atlanta Rhythm Section drummer
Tommy Holcomb, a Roanoke music scene lifer, recently began airing his show, “Retro Roanoke Radio,” on Sunny FM (WSNV, 93.5). The show, featuring local radio history, clips of DJs from the past, old jingles, interviews an music, airs at 7 p.m. Sunday.
Holcomb’s upcoming episode features Roy Yeager, a former drummer from Atlanta Rhythm Section. Holcomb told us in an e-mail that Yeager played on a lot of Holcomb’s jingles in the 1970s and 1980s and was the drummer on the Alicia Bridges hit, “I Love the Nightlife.” So if you’re into tasty drumming from guys with stories to tell, tune in.
