Live music on Saturday at Roanoke College — Matt Wertz, Texas Hollow

Roanoke College is inconsistent at best about sending us dates for their live music offerings, so I figured I’d drop this one onto the blog, even though it hit the inbox too late to make Top Tickets.

The school closes its Winterfest weekend with a concert from Matt Wertz. Wertz, who has done tour dates with Jars of Clay, Ben Folds, Jamie Cullum and One Republic, released his holiday-themed album “Snow Globe” (Nettwerk) last year. Texas Hollow, a Roanoke Valley band that includes a Roanoke College graduate, Andy Neikirk, opens the show.

Details: 8 p.m. Alumni Gym, Roanoke College. $10 at the door or in advance at Roanoke’s Colket Center information desk; $11.50 tickets available via www.roanoke.edu/tickets. 378-5125.

About this blog

cutNscratch is The Roanoke Times music blog. Music reporter Tad Dickens enjoys pickin' and grinnin' and drummin', and he likes to write about music, too. He'll post plenty about local, regional and national music, but it won't be any fun at all if you don't jump in and have your say. So do it! | Read more about Tad.
