Music video — Rubblebucket plays “Down in the Yards” at Martin’s Downtown on Tuesday

Rubblebucket has a lot going for it right now. Frontwoman Kalmia Traver comes across like the love child of Bjork and Debbie Harry, and she blows a mean baritone sax. The music she and her bandmates write is strange, funky and practically cliche-free. And the horn section is killer — just so tight together, with great intonation.

Here is the band playing “Down in the Yards,” the opening cut of its latest CD, “Omega La La.” It’s not fully evident here, but Berkeley Dent, who runs lights for a lot of shows at Martin’s Downtown, did a great job with this band on Tuesday.
