Singer/songwriter Scott Miller returns to Kirk Avenue Music Hall tonight, this time as a duo. He and old-time fiddle champ Rayna Gellart will play songs from their new EP, “CoDEPENDENTS,” along with other songs from Miller’s extensive catalog of quality original tunes. On Friday, the pair hits Franklin County High School with Grammy-winning singer/songwriter Jim Lauderdale. Read more about both shows.

Here’s we talk to Miller about his recent move back to his family cattle farm in Swoope, about the music he and Gellart are making and about several other random subjects, including the late Knoxville, Tenn., grocer, TV personality and politician, Cas Walker. We just don’t know how to do. We stream music from “CoDEPENDENTS” — “Lo Siento Spanishburg West Virginia,” “We’re Leaving This Town” and “Lost Not Broken.”

About this blog

cutNscratch is The Roanoke Times music blog. Music reporter Tad Dickens enjoys pickin' and grinnin' and drummin', and he likes to write about music, too. He'll post plenty about local, regional and national music, but it won't be any fun at all if you don't jump in and have your say. So do it!
