Thanks for the mention of Danny Groah. I believe he’s related (son?) to the Staunton-area country songwriters Lenny and Lucille Groah, active since the 1960′s, who had a number of songs cut by major country artists like Johnny Cash, Dave Dudley, and naturally, the Statler Brothers.

Haha, I realized later that I should have written this: If he spent as much time on his songs as he does on his hair, he’d sell millions. Kind of mean, I guess. But the guy can sing and play guitar, too.

I think his crew shot most of that stuff the day they came to town. It didn’t look like something that was hired out, or they wouldn’t have shot Red Clay Restaurant, which has been out of bid’ness for years. Glad they shot The Roanoke Times, haha!

I hope you are wrong about Casey — I thought he was a “super star” tonight…enjoyed every song. But then I’m a pushover for long curly blonde hair, blue eyed country boys!

Loved Alan more than ever and appreciated his tribute to Roanoke in his video of “All things Roanoke” …”Where I Grew Up” in his encore. Would love to know who did that video –only thing missing was the Jefferson Center and did I miss the Roanoke Winer Stand?
