Sol Creech, a onetime Franklin County resident who has become a rambling man of blues, funk and reggae, returned to Martin’s Downtown last Friday to open for Alan Evans Trio. With him as usual were bassist Jake Dempsey and drummer “King” George Penn, one of the finest and most experienced rhythm sections in Southwest Virginia.

Here, the band plays “What Your Lovin’ Done Done,” from its upcoming album.
