The Floorboards playing Daleville Music Pavilion on Thursday

The little town of Daleville, in Botetourt County, has itself a primo outdoor venue, the Daleville Music Pavilion. On a huge field just past Lord Botetourt High School, a first-class stage is a permanent fixture. And they’re bringing in shows.

Last night was a good example, when 101.5 The Music Place and Kirk Avenue Music Hall’s Gary Jackson teamed to present Trampled by Turtles. TbT headlined to a crowd of about 1,000. The Floorboards, Southwest Virginia’s own Americana regional supergroup, played a powerful opening set, making a bunch of new fans in the process. Here are The Floorboards, playing an original, “Woman Named Whiskey.”

About this blog

cutNscratch is The Roanoke Times music blog. Music reporter Tad Dickens enjoys pickin' and grinnin' and drummin', and he likes to write about music, too. He'll post plenty about local, regional and national music, but it won't be any fun at all if you don't jump in and have your say. So do it!
