Nikki Litwiler always has great taste in indie-folk acts. She was onto the Avett Brothers long before they got famous. Now she laments that the Avetts have sold out. She has brought Larry and his Flask to Roanoke, as well as Bob Wayne and lots of others. She says the Flask boys promised her they would never sell out.

On Wednesday night, I went up to Mountainside Cafe, where Litwiler had booked The Harmed Brothers, from Eugene, Ore. They did some nice originals and quality covers, including this cover of Willie Tea Taylor‘s “Big Jim’s Guitar.”

About this blog

cutNscratch is The Roanoke Times music blog. Music reporter Tad Dickens enjoys pickin' and grinnin' and drummin', and he likes to write about music, too. He'll post plenty about local, regional and national music, but it won't be any fun at all if you don't jump in and have your say. So do it!
