Music video — No BS! Brass Band flat tore stuff up at Blue 5 Restaurant last Friday

The word was out fairly early last week that No BS! Brass Band was an act to catch in Roanoke. Loaded with funky horns — including a tuba player on the bass notes — and a whip-arse drummer, this act lived up to the hype while holding onto a room full of folks at Blue 5.
The Richmond-based band is definitely copping some New Orleans-style brass band stuff, but it is also going for the same kind of greasiness that Tower of Power and Earth Wind & Fire got when it gave the horns some. And it wasn’t all horns. The band has at least two good lead singers, and harmony is in effect, too. Looking forward to hearing these cats in town again soon.
