Podcast with Josh Shilling, playing with Mountain Heart at Black Dog Wine & Music Festival; Shilling has a new solo EP, ‘Letting Go’
Josh Shilling, Henry County native and frontman for progressive bluegrassers Mountain Heart, recently released his first solo work, an EP called “Letting Go.” It’s not necessarily a commercial venture, though the disc is for sale at his shows and on his website. It’s also very much a calling card to his new hometown, Nashville, Tenn., where in addition to being a killer vocalist, he is also a songwriter.
Here, we stream some music from “Letting Go” and talk with Shilling about the record, as well as about the music business in the town they call “Music City.”
Streaming music — “Letting Go,” “Back to Me and You” and “Wondering If You’re Wondering.”
Hear Shilling on Saturday with Mountain Heart at the Black Dog Wine & Music Festival. The Black Lillies also are on the bill.
