Franklin County-based bluegrass stars Junior Sisk & Ramblers Choice this year made a record worthy of International Bluegrass Music Association Awards consideration. And the band will be playing several songs from that disc on Aug. 15, to kick off the IBMA’s nomination announcement conference.

The band said through its publicist today that it will play songs from 2012 disc “The Heart of A Song” when the event begins at 5 p.m. that day.

The whole hootenanny will stream live at the band’s facebook page, via livestream. Or check it out on Sirius/XM’s Bluegrass Junction, if you’re not into the whole video thing.

We’re willing to guess that Sisk will get yet another best vocalist nomination, the band will get a best band nomination and “The Heart of A Song” gets a best album nod.

Sisk also announced today that the Virginia Folk Music Association will induct him during a lucky Friday, Sept. 13 ceremony at the association’s 13th Annual Jumpin’ Bluegrass Festival, in Chesterfield. Mr. Sisk, 13 is your number.

Hear a podcast with Sisk from earlier this year, including streaming music from and discussion of the new disc.
