Music video — Holy Ghost Tent Revival plays “Walk You Home Again” at Kirk Avenue Music Hall last Saturday
Greensboro, N.C., band Holy Ghost Tent Revival has transformed its sound dramatically since the days when it emerged at FloydFest. The post-rag, post-old-school-jazz thing is gone, replaced by rock roots — Beatles, Stones, the Band, the Dead, Motown grooves.
And it’s working. In a nearly two-hour set last Saturday at Kirk Avenue Music Hall, the band went heavy on the newer material, particularly from just-released CD “Sweat Like The Old Days.”
The crowd, which grew to a pretty good size during the set, was significantly larger than last time the band played Kirk Ave., according to those who were there last time. And the crowd responded strongly to almost every song Holy Ghost played.
Here, the band does a cut from the new one, called “Walk You Home Again.”
