Music video — Larry and His Flask playing “Shakedown” at Martin’s Downtown last night

Oregon bluegrass- and ragtime-punk Larry and His Flask is a wildly energetic act. But strip away all the onstage antics, and you have good songs as well. The combination draws the folks, and as usual, there was a big crowd at Martin’s for LaHF’s Thursday sets.

This band really gets people riled up. Drunks abounded, and some of the women-folk were downright angry drunks. It was funny, but too bad they won’t remember the show. FloydFest co-founder Kris Hodges will remember it, though. We caught up for a second as he was leaving. He pointed toward the band’s general direction and said, “FloydFest, next year, for sure.”

Larry and His Flask will kill it up there, no doubt.

Here is the band playing “Shakedown.” I shot a few videos, including a really strong new one called “Hobo’s Lament,” but even as an acoustic act, these guys were so loud that my phone’s mic could barely take it, haha! This one turned out ok on the audio, at least.
