Music video — The Secret B-Sides play “Crush Groove” at Growler’s American Grill, back on June 28

Asheville, N.C., band The Secret B-Sides are as funky as you want. No telling why the guys don’t pick up fans here. But they always put on a good show, as they did back in June, playing two shows — one at Martin’s Downtown, and one the next night at Growler’s.

This video is from the second show, on June 28. The night before, some random woman had come into Martin’s and said a variety of strange and vaguely racist things to the band, which had some sport at her expense. I wish I had some of *that* on video. Oh well.

Here’s to a fine band from a strong local scene out there in Western N.C.

By the way, this is the latest installment in my digging in the vault to catch up. Turns out, I shoot too much video and don’t have time to post it all, with all the other work I have to do. Sorry about that. But hey, this is a groove, so enjoy.

About this blog

cutNscratch is The Roanoke Times music blog. Music reporter Tad Dickens enjoys pickin' and grinnin' and drummin', and he likes to write about music, too. He'll post plenty about local, regional and national music, but it won't be any fun at all if you don't jump in and have your say. So do it!
