More music video with local roots — Annie Lawrence, “More Like You”

Easy listening singer/songwriter (or adult contemporary singer/songwriter, in the parlance of our times) Annie Lawrence has moved to Nashville, Tenn., after finishing up at James Madison University. She’s going after a music career that should appeal to contemporary Christian music fans as well as those who like the easy listening. She returned to the Roanoke Valley last month and shot what she calls her “first official music video.” The video for “More Like You” was shot in Bent Mountain, and you’ll recognize some local musicians, Zach Wiley, Robert Natt and Dave Porter.

In a news release, Lawrence wrote: “I was so blessed to have the girls I wrote this song for, Charly Fetzer (5) and her sisters (Naomi 3, Liberty 11) take part in the video,” she wrote.  “Their story is one of joy, innocence, and wonder, and I hope that this song can help inspire you the way they inspire me.”

About this blog

cutNscratch is The Roanoke Times music blog. Music reporter Tad Dickens enjoys pickin' and grinnin' and drummin', and he likes to write about music, too. He'll post plenty about local, regional and national music, but it won't be any fun at all if you don't jump in and have your say. So do it!
