For musical purists, nothing rankles like a band and a corporation getting on the same page together. But The Avett Brothers partnership with the soft drink Cheerwine is focused on family aid organizations nationwide.

The band and the beverage are joining forces on Friday at nTelos Wireless Pavilion, in Charlottesville, for what they are calling the “Legendary Giveback.” The show will be streamed live to anyone who commits to some community volunteering, according to a news release. Go to www.cheerwine.com/giveback/giveback.php to sign up, pledge up to 50 hours service and get access to a live stream from the pavilion.

According to the news release, ticket proceeds will go to family-centered organizations Operation Homefront, Big Brothers Big Sisters and University of Virginia Children’s Hospital.
