Far Southwest Virginia/northeast Tennessee rock-grass juggernaut Folk Soul Revival returns to the valley with a new album, “Prompting the Dapperness.” The band’s cult following, The Congregation, will surely be out in force, when the band hits Schooners on Saturday.

On this podcast, we talk to the band’s drummer, Dan Witt. We discuss the phenomenon that is The Congregation, among other topics. Streaming music — the title cut from “Prompting The Dapperness,” “This Ol’ Flame” (feat. singer Brittany Carter), “Love In Lot 9″ and “Jawbone Blues.”

About this blog

cutNscratch is The Roanoke Times music blog. Music reporter Tad Dickens enjoys pickin' and grinnin' and drummin', and he likes to write about music, too. He'll post plenty about local, regional and national music, but it won't be any fun at all if you don't jump in and have your say. So do it!
