Your deadline: Tagged photos posted between July 21 and noon July 30 will be considered by our Roanoke Times photo team, who will choose the winner(s).
Did you win? The winning photo(s) will be announced Aug. 3 and will be featured in the Extra section of The Roanoke Times.
Prizes will include:

Contest entrants agree to abide by the terms of these Official Rules and by the decisions of The Roanoke Times. All decisions made by The Roanoke Times are final on all matters pertaining to the contest. This Contest and all of the related pages, contents and code are copyright The Roanoke Times. Copying or unauthorized use of any copyrighted materials, trademarks or any other intellectual property without the express written consent of its owner is strictly prohibited.
Contest entrants (“entrants” or “you”) must be a legal U.S. resident 18 years of age or older at time of entry to be eligible for this contest. This contest is void where prohibited by law. As described below, there are certain persons who are ineligible to be contestants.
Each entrant is required to submit an original photo taken at FloydFest between July 21 and July 29, 2013. To be eligible for the contest, photos must be submitted no later than noon on Tuesday, July 30.
Each submission must be in keeping with the positive image of The Roanoke Times and may not be offensive, inappropriate, as determined by The Roanoke Times. The Roanoke Times has the right to reject or disqualify a photo (including related captions) for any reason in its sole and absolute discretion.
By entering this Contest and submitting a photo, each entrant: (a) is representing that the entrant is the copyright owner of the photo or has written permission from the copyright owner to enter the photo in the contest; (b) is thereby granting The Roanoke Times all rights necessary to use the photo in the contest, including but not limited to an irrevocable license to edit, publish, republish, distribute and copy the photo and/or the edited photo an unlimited number of times in any print, electronic or other medium; (c) has obtained from anyone identified or depicted in the photo (or the parent or guardian of any child identified or depicted) all permission necessary to grant The Roanoke Times the foregoing license; and (d) is thereby granting to The Roanoke Times the right to use and publish their proper name, city and state in print, online, or any other electronic or digital media, in connection with the contest.
The Roanoke Times also reserves the right to use any and all information related to the contest, including information on contestants obtained through the contest, for marketing purposes or any other purpose, unless prohibited by law.
Notification of Winners:
Winners will be notified through Instagram on July 30, 2013. To claim their prize, winners must respond to the notification no later than August 1, 2013. If winner fails to claim prize by deadline, another winner will be selected.
Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.
Each winner, by acceptance of the prize, agrees to release all Sponsors, and their parent and subsidiary companies, their officers, directors, employees, agents, shareholders, affiliates, suppliers, distributors, and advertising agencies from all liability, claims, or actions of any kind whatsoever for injuries, damages, or losses to persons and property which may be sustained in connection with the receipt, ownership, or use of the prize.
Employees and contractors of The Roanoke Times or their respective parent, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising sponsors and promotional agencies, and the immediate family members (defined as parents, spouse, children, siblings, grandparents, and/or any person with whom they are domiciled) of each are not eligible. People who meet this definition cannot be depicted in any photo entered in the contest.
Additional Contest Rules:
This Contest is not intended for gambling. If it is determined that a contestant is using the contest for gambling purposes they will be disqualified and reported to authorities.
The Roanoke Times reserves the right to change these Contest rules at any time.
The Roanoke Times is not responsible for Internet crashes or slowdowns caused by network congestion, viruses, sabotage, satellite failures, phone line failures, electrical outages, natural disasters or acts of man or God. The Roanoke Times reserves the right to terminate, modify or suspend the Contest if, in The Roanoke Times opinion, there is any suspected or actual evidence of electronic or non-electronic tampering with any portion of the Contest (including the voting phase of the contest).
If viruses, bugs, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical difficulties or failures or any other factor beyond The Roanoke Times reasonable control corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Contest we reserve the right to terminate the contest. In such an event, The Roanoke Times reserves the right (but does not have an obligation) in its sole discretion to award the prizes based on the last tally of votes for non-suspect entries received up to the time of the suspected impairment.
