101.5 The Valley’s Music Place is opening its airwaves (and web stream) to Child Health Investment Partnership of the Roanoke Valley, aka CHIP, on Thursday. Between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. that day, you can call 339-9000 and donate in honor of a mom you dig, and the radio station will air her name. If she’s the shy type, you can have a certificate mailed to her before Mother’s Day. Either way, you will be entered din a prize drawing.

And best yet, your gift will help more than 1,000 children get a healthier start in life, according to CHIP and the radio station.

If you are too busy that day, you could always go to http://www.chiprv.org or call 857-6993 to see how you can help a valley-based organization.

While you’re at it, might as well like facebook.com/CHIPRoanokeValley and facebook.com/1015thevalleysmusicplace. Donate local. Listen local.

About this blog

cutNscratch is The Roanoke Times music blog. Music reporter Tad Dickens enjoys pickin' and grinnin' and drummin', and he likes to write about music, too. He'll post plenty about local, regional and national music, but it won't be any fun at all if you don't jump in and have your say. So do it!
