Dan, you really need to curl up inside your home and stay away from the outdoors. Yes, deer are gorgeous to observe in their habitat. So are cougars. However, that doesn’t mean we should just hug & pet them. As Ricky Bobby said – ‘It’s hard to control my heart rate when I got a cougar on me’
If you can’t comprehend the reasoning behind deer hunting, it’s best to leave it to the big boys. Just like raising cattle, hogs, or poultry for food consumption, harvesting wild game through hunting is not for the squeamish. Hunting wild game for sport is not for the squeamish. Stay indoors, Dan, looking out the window. It’s where you’re best suited.
Reread the post.
1) I never said I couldn’t comprehend the reasoning behind deer hunting,
2) I wrote that I have nothing against hunting wild game.
I just said that I doubted I could ever shoot a deer. That’s me, and I wouldn’t force that viewpoint on anyone else. Do you hold opinions that you wouldn’t force upon others? Ah … thought so.
Enjoy those beautiful pix, abdnva. Hey, you could download them and put a target on them!
Dan, I don’t see you shedding tears over photos of rainbow trout caught in the spring. A creature every bit as beautiful as a deer, yet you don’t show the same sympathy. How about you drop the moronic ‘animal pornography’ slurs and shut up with your prejudice against people who use weapons for sport? Your irrational zeal has you slamming co-workers just because of your own inadequacies.
As for you never saying that you didn’t understand hunting? Of course you didn’t say that. Just like members of the KKK don’t say that they are bigots, you don’t make that statement about yourself because you refuse to admit it. When it comes to any discussion involving guns, you’re just as prejudiced.
You should switch to decaf. I am on the record on this blog passionately disagreeing with Dan on gun-related issues, but I did not see this post as anti-hunting in any way. I don’t think Dan meant for this to turn into any kind of gun debate.
Abdnva, you might look around and notice that nobody else on this blog took Dan’s post the way you have. And comparing Dan to the KKK? That’s really weird. Your replies to this have been completely off the wall and irrational. Dan is not trying to destroy hunting.
I would never join the KKK. But I’ve never closed the door to going hunting. Your illogical leaps notwithstanding, I simply wrote that I doubt I could pull the trigger on a deer because I’m enchanted by their beauty. Could I do that if I was starving? Sure. But I’m not. None of us are. I couldn’t do it for sport, that’s all. That’s me — and it’s no judgment on anyone else.
You argue that it’s hypocritical for me not to feel the same way about fish. That’s a bizarre statement. It implies that you believe I must have the same feeling about all animals, or at the least all wild animals. It makes no sense. That’s like saying that because you like the color blue, you must also like the color red.
Not really sure how we got to the KKK on this. I guess Dan will soon be labeled “Hitler”.
Come on man!!Deer porno? Do you even realize that you posted a pic of a Fallow buck with his P@NI$ hanging out!!That’s what I would call deer porno.By the way stay in the region, most of these pics are of deer that don’t live here! Are you jealous of Mark?I hope you don’t hit one with your car on your way home tonight, because they are over populated.I bet that would be a beautiful pix!!
