Money for tollgate restoration was a waste, he says
Hail, fellow cycling dude!!
Read the post about the tollbooth … it’s a shame something as meaningless and inconsequential to anything should matter so much. If it would have cost the city less to take the tollbooth down then that should have been done…especially if it was on private property. There really was no reason to bother with that thing.
Money is tight these days and wasting it on something as nonsensical as overhauling a dilapidated structure that really matters not in any way … well … I guarantee, no one is going to come to Roanoke to see that thing … it’s not important in ANY way whatsoever …
PEOPLE are in need and unless the object in question is of a seriously important nature…well….people matter more than a simple tollbooth to a rather singular and unknown unimportant piece of real estate … my God!! If it was something of SERIOUS historical value … fine … But it’s not.
Rich folks should have paid the entire cost. Even then I wouldn’t be happy about that! Rich folks should donate to more important deals …
Oh … I could have spent more time in fine tuning the English but that’s not the point!!
Keep on riding and figuring out cool things to write about!!
