Let’s have a double-edged pool on the latest Stalin-bust news
My colleage Rex Bowman has an update on a stew that’s been brewing for months: The National D-Day Memorial in Bedford has announced it’s KEEPING the bust of Stalin but is temporarily taking it down and looking for a better place to display it.
From Roanoke.com:
The decision, which [National D-Day Memorial Director Robin] Reed said he and the memorial’s governing board reached earlier this month after weeks of discussion, is unlikely to mollify veterans and others who have protested the Stalin bust since it went up in June. Opponents of the bust say it honors the brutal dictator.
