She is running from a pellet? Such bravery under fire. Well I guess when you take on kids and their lemonade stand your as brave as they come.

Good to know that whomever fired the pellets would be breaking the law in VA since they didn’t exercise reasonable precaution to prevent them from leaving their property. Too bad the sheriff down in GA is spending their time hassling kids trying to make a few dollars, they could have been trying to solved actual crimes that have occurred.

“According to town ordinances, the girls needed a business license, peddler’s permit and food permit to operate.”

Seriously? Is the town afraid that some little girls with a lemonade stand might be making thousands of dollars and they aren’t getting their fair share of the pie?

Kids under 18 who are employeed aren’t even required to pay income taxes. For heaven’s sake people.

And then if they were just concerned about the girls being unsupervised and not safe, why not just ask where their parents are and contact them? Rather than citing town ordinances to little girls and making them shut down.

I’ve heard on this blog that pellet guns aren’t dangerous.

All acts, equally dumb! There must not be too awful much crime in Midway, Ga.

LOL, they must have seen the commercial with those kids who turned into CEO’s and got “scairt”!

surely the police did wrong by shutting down the illegal lemonade stand. however in hindsight we can see that they were wise beyond their years. behind this illegal lemon business lies a violent individual whose actions have shown themselves with that pellet gun. sorta like “fast and furious” in reverse. you know, the lemonade led to the pellet gun, etc. Has anyone seen a picture of that Police chief. Could he look like Dan? Is it the same person? No Dan, I do not sell lemonade in Central America nor do I own a pellet gun. Could you sell me yours?

Paul, my (son’s) pellet gun isn’t working anymore.

  10. Paul | July 21, 2011 at 12:53 pm

thanks Dan. I feel a lot better.

What does an illegal use of a pellet gun in another State have to do with Virginia?

This act would have been illegal here in Virginia — both before and after the recent law change.

Those who irresponsibly ignore the law will continue to do so in spite of the over-criminalization of responsible action by responsible folk. Criminalizing responsible actions does not stop those irresponsibly ignore the law.

Q: “How many Gun Control Advocates does it take to change a light-bulb?”

    A: “None.”

“They just pass law against bulbs burning out — then curse the
darkness wondering why the law doesn’t work.”

BTW, Dan, why would you break Pauls gun?

So maybe the lemonade stand was just a cover for illicit drug deals, a prostitution ring, or a way to case the neighborhood for some gang. Giving the Police Chief the benefit of the doubt, surely there was a legitimate public safety concern going on…I mean Anthem was recently in the news encouraging people to set up lemonade stands to raise money for the “Children’s Miracle Network”, wonder if the police will shut all of them down…bummer.

Sandinista, I think that police chief realized early on that the lemonade stand was part of Agenda 21. The shooter, obviously is an agent of the UN.

Of course Dan, sorry I did not see the conspiracy for what it was, these dang rose colored gun control advocate glasses will fool me like that on occasion.

Slow news day??? I’m betting there’s a kid somewhere that threw a rock through a window today too. Too bad the law against vandalism didn’t stop that either. Guess we’ll have to ban rocks.
