Easter candy on sale at the Cave Spring Kroger — on Christmas Eve, he writes
Dan,
Speaking of Kroger — saw this standing in line on Christmas Eve (no less !) at the Kroger Cave Spring location — Easter Bunny candy on December 24th.
Makes me wonder what happened to Valentine’s Day?
I realize Easter is a big candy day but come on — putting it out on Christmas Eve — where does it end?
I suppose the old retailing ” Christmas in July” sales really will mean “Christmas in July” – how sad for us.
Anyway, thanks for the wonderful stories – keep up the good work.
Terry

Does that say “spring is in the air”? It’s barely winter.
I saw the same display at the Spartan Square Kroger in Salem.
It is on display at Ridgewood Farms Kroger, too. When I asked the cashier what was up with the Easter candy, she said they were all just as puzzled as the customers who have been asking.
I hope it isn’t the Easter candy from last Easter!!!
You can bet the candy probably was made quite a few months ago. That’s what the trans-fats can do, making it possible to increase shelf life much longer than fresh. What’s a little diabetes and cancer when you can have candy packaged for Easter in December?
I almost forgot to mention that there was a record recorded by a 12 year old Roanoke boy back in 1954, and this is true, called “If The Easter Bunny Knew The Fun He’d Have On Christmas”. I can’t find a link to it, but maybe I’ll post the lyrics. It’s really sort of charming.
