Note from Dan: This fine bit of blasphemy came in this morning from the supposedly ardent Roman Catholic poster known here as Suzie. It’s about the man who called law student Sandra Fluke “a slut” and “a prostitute” and who said she was having so much sex she shouldn’t be able to walk. Unreal.
“As we have begun Lent and are headed towards Good Friday, I can’t help but see a comparison. Jesus’ alleged crime was usurpation against the state (a common crime in leftwing dictatorships). Rush Limbaugh’s alleged crime was a trumped up comment that offended the state-controlled media.
From the bible: “They will look upon Him whom they have pierced”, I would like each of you ‘Roman soldiers’ to look upon what you have done to Rush Limbaugh in terms of the vile names you have called Him.

Suzie’s post cancels itself out by virtue of the fact that she has used numerous rude and inflammatory names for President Obama (among others including fellow posters here). This is one of the clearest cases of the pot calling out the kettle that I have yet to witness on this blog. Therefore, due to the overwhelming hypocracy of Suzie making a post of this nature, it is worth nothing more than a laugh.
I have argued consistently for people to use the correct names of political figures, fellow posters, etc. Therefore, I have not been a hypocrite where this issue is concerned. But that does not mean that I can’t spot one a mile away.
I hope this clears up for you why there is nothing worth saying in response to such an obviously trolling post by Suzie.
@ Pistol Pete, also, in all earnestness here…do you honestly, in your heart, think that a good Christian Catholic woman would ever paraphrase the Bible and put a radio personality’s name in the spot of Jesus? Do you really fall for this? This is absolutely not what a God-fearing person would do in my opinion. Well, Fluke basically admitted she couldn’t afford birth control for all the sex she was having. Pflugrad? Well, we know she went out with Tim Tebow, and he is a good Christian man who abstains from sex before marriage.
So from everything we know, Fluke is clearly the slut, and not Amanda.

Dan is surprised the program manager, Kevin Scott, didn’t supply him with that list that Dan would use to intimidate the advertisers and harm the station. Scott is smart enough to know Dan would publish the list of sponsors for the army leftwing goons in here (who never listen to WFIR anyway) to call and harass.
For my part, Scott emailed me back right away that I shouldn’t worry, and that Rush would remain on his station. This is after I sent a message asking the station not to heed to complaints from leftwing dirtbags with a political agenda.
I had assumed that Kevin Scott’s failure to respond indicated Rush has NO local advertisers.
Oh well. Three hours by the radio with a pad and pen will tell.

I won 500 dollars from WFIR once and had some lively exchanges with them over FlimFlambaugh years ago, then I gave up. They think people being upset is good for the ratings because like all right wing media, they believe that their message to right wing “dirtbags” is important. This is not about money and frankly there are plenty of right wing business leaders to take up any slack. You can tell the products you do not want to buy or support so you are at least forewarned but even that is not worth listening to that bile for 3 hours of any day.

#46 Dan, I can’t say what the situation is now, but I can remember listening to brief snippets of Rash as recently as a couple of years ago, and WFIR was running self promos and public service ads during most all of the local ad slots. That means no or few local ads.
I am utterly bored by their general talk show lineup and it’s beyond me how anybody can listen to all those dolts parrot each other all day, however, I WILL give WFIR props for continuing to have a local news crew and program. Other than WVTF, I think that’s pretty much unheard of on radio around here now.
