I’m sure that right-wing social conservatives like suzie and Will will be along any minute now to thank President Obama for his support and protection of the blind Chinese dissident who is fighting FORCED abortions in China. In addition to helping Chen Guangcheng, Obama has also embarrassed the Chinese over their failure to enforce their law against forced abortions. Good job, Mr. President!

I am surprized that you have ignored your favorite “99%er” Elizabeth “Pocahontas” Warren. Looks like she has cheated her way all the way to Harvard on a bogus Indian affirmative action scam. See the above article. It is hilarious.

  3. Suzie | May 2, 2012 at 11:03 am

Gdad REALLY wants to change the subject, folks. As many of you know, he (and others) got humiliated in my thread last night.

  4. Sandi Saunders | May 2, 2012 at 11:10 am

What are you talking about Gdad? Suzie et al throw up China and its “capitalism” as a model for America. Forced abortions, work camps and lack of human rights is nothing compared to the “good things” China does.

  5. Henry | May 2, 2012 at 11:21 am

    How did Obama help him?

  6. Dan Casey | May 2, 2012 at 11:36 am

    terps,

Howie Carr wrote one of the best organized-crime books I’ve ever read. But OMG that’s a lousy column about Elizabeth Warren. It lacks so much context that it’s impossible to evaluate the beef he’s basing it on.

And I honestly question whether there is one at all. I’m unaware of ANY benefit that that anyone claiming 1/32 native American heritage can get. There is even no benefit at 1/16th. Any advantage whatsoever ends at 1/4 according to my own research. So there just doesn’t seem to be anything there.

Wal-Mart to pay $4.8 million in back wages

By Ylan Q. Mui, Published: May 1

The Labor Department on Tuesday ordered Wal-Mart to pay $4.8 million in back wages and damages to thousands of employees who were denied overtime charges, the latest in a string of embarrassments for the company over its business practices.

The department said its decision affects roughly 4,500 vision-center managers and asset-protection coordinators who worked at Wal-Mart between 2004 and 2007. Wal-Mart had considered those employees exempt from federal regulations requiring overtime pay but reclassified them in 2007. The government and the retailer have been negotiating the amount owed since then.

    Dan
Thats the POINT! She listed herself TWICE as a “minority” in job applications to Harvard as a blue eyed, blonde haired Cherokee. Her campaign spent 3 days of research to find a great great grandmother who was half Cherokee.(see the above article)
Even the liberals in Boston have given up on her. Can you imagine if Scott brown had claimed minority status for a job? It would be front page news on the NYT and Wash Post. The liberal hypocrisy is on full display here and it will be a hoot watching them trying to sqirm out of it.
I will bet many wampum that she is toast.

  11. gdad | May 2, 2012 at 12:08 pm

#5 Henry, do you REALLY think the embassy sheltered him or Americans escorted him to a hospital without Obama being consulted? Right.

  12. gdad | May 2, 2012 at 12:19 pm

#9 Dobbs, since suzie apparently enjoys being shown for the dolt she is on multiple threads let explain a little. She’s actually trying to change the subject from topics that she has no answer for by referring to something on the Monday open thread, something that I’ve already answered and destroyed her on at that thread.

Why she wants to drag her humiliating defeat across other threads is beyond me, but I guess you’e got to do something when you’ve been indirectly scolded by your own denomination’s bishops like she has.

  13. 13 Suns | May 2, 2012 at 12:42 pm

In the Cherokee Nation, and perhaps in other tribes as well, 1/32 Cherokee ‘blood’ is sufficient to be a member of the tribe. I’ve been to several Pow-Wows where I saw quite a few blonde-haired, blue-eyed Cherokees.

Ron thinks state income taxes are the same as federal income taxes. This is what I mean in my post of the day, folks. Wasting my time with unintelligent people is why I should be paid to participate here.

  20. Suzie | May 2, 2012 at 1:57 pm

    2 Good link, Terps.

Another liberal games the system to advance. Bitten in the ass by the affirmative action system liberals created.

    Poetic justice.

  21. Other John | May 2, 2012 at 1:57 pm

13suns, that’s interesting. Based on the geneology on my mom’s side, I would qualify since my great grandmother was full Cherokee…but I’ve never considered doing that. We’ve also done research and found that the original patriarch of the family was one of the original Jamestown settlers, and that there were ancestors who fought in both the Revolutionary and Civil wars. My wife’s family also has similar roots to the Revolutionary period and the Cherokee Nation, though the patriarch on her mom’s side of the family was a Hessian soldier who fought with the British originally, before settling in the region. Cool stuff.

Why, after all the nasty things Gingrich said about Mitt Romney’s character, would he now wish to support him? I think there may be 4.3 million reasons….

USA TODAY interview: Gingrich ready to support Romney
“Former House speaker Newt Gingrich, on the eve of suspending his roller coaster presidential bid, said in an interview with USA TODAY that he will embrace Mitt Romney’s candidacy Wednesday and is ready to campaign for his former rival.”
“The Romney campaign and the Republican National Committee have offered to be helpful as Gingrich works to retire his campaign debt.”
    http://www.usatoday.com/news/politics/story/2012-05-01/gingrich-supports-romney/54664162/1

Evidently all of Romney’s woes and adversaries can be soothed and made to disappear with his readily available Cayman millions…

#10 terps posted, “minority status for a job? ”

Evidently terps you are trying to push the Fox-bot meme begun by MA Senator Scott Brown’s losing campaign…it won’t work because…

On Monday night, [April 30,2012] officials involved in her hiring at Harvard, the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Texas and the University of Houston Law Center all said that
SHE WAS HIRED BECAUSE SHE WAS AN OUTSTANDING TEACHER, AND THAT HER LINEAGE WAS EITHER NOT DISCUSSED OR NOT A FACTOR.
“To suggest that she needed some special advantage to be hired here or anywhere is just silly,” said Jay Westbrook, chairman of business law at the University of Texas. ”

It sounds like desperation on the part of Scott Brown’s campaign.

Like I said, Howie Carr is a great writer when it comes to crime. When it comes to politics, he’s pretty damn awful. A summer intern could have written a more intelligible column.

#23 When I saw your comment it makes me roll my eyes and telling myself, oh boy this election is really going to be nuts.
Try as you might to paint this President as a socialist or communist is just making those folks on the edge who are not so sure who to vote for, will make them vote for this President again. You folks will have to do much better than that.
Boy when you look at your GOP and all those crazy things they say, it makes wonder how low can they get.

  30. Kristen | May 2, 2012 at 2:53 pm

Well the GOP should definitely adopt “backwards” in response. It fits them perfectly

Root Boy Slim did a great blues song on 1987′s “Left for Dead” called “How Low Can You Go?” I’ve got an Mp3 of it at home. I’ll try to remember to email it to you tonight.

It would be a great GOP theme song for these strange political times.

It doesn’t matter if she was qualified for the job or not. She applied as a minority applicant as an Indian. Do you think that anyone with 1/32 indian blood should be able to check the minority box and hence gain advantage? If Scott Brown had done this, Hillary, tell me you would have approved.
You liberals have created this crazy world where everybody scrambles to find “minority” blood to gain advantage. It is such poetic justice that the queen of liberal orthodoxy is being hung by liberal nonsense.

  34. billhudson | May 2, 2012 at 3:25 pm

But my favorite is the Raging Grannies, they are a hoot. We had them last year at the Clearwater Festival,http://www.clearwaterfestival.org/

We need to have a pow wow over a peacepipe to set you straight on this Indian flap. The newspaper scalped Warren, not Scott Brown. Brown is on the warpath and Warren is headed to the failed liberal reservation with Martha Coakley.

  36. Dan Casey | May 2, 2012 at 3:40 pm

Elizabeth Warren is hardly the “queen of liberal orthodoxy.” Like Eisenhower, Goldwater, Nixon, Ford, Reagan and even GWB, she’s merely to the left of the gang of extreme RWers that has seized control of the GOP message machine.

She is much more the queen of common sense and good government. That you can’t recognize that is not at all surprising.

  37. Kristen | May 2, 2012 at 3:41 pm

Wow , PP, I was just about to say the same thing. I wonder if his autopsy will show the same intense degeneration of the brains of the other NFL young guys who passed.

This is why Goodell has no choice but to crush the Saints. The NFL is staring at some big las suits coming up.

    “Dan

    Terps,

    He’s not. He’s merely a third-string political opportunist.

YOU (and many others) are, though. And the cacophony of lies from your crowd isn’t doing this nation any good. You’re right — you don’t get it.

  44. Hillary | May 2, 2012 at 5:34 pm

Remember when increases to any social program had to be offset by gutting social programs? Remember when Republicans would not cut interest rates on Student Loans or provide a reduction in payroll taxes without offsets by cutting [read as gutting] middle-class safety net programs? The DEEEEFFFFIIIIIICCCCIIIITT they wailed –teeth gnashing – we won’t increase it….never…EVVVer! That was then this is now….

“HOUSE REPUBLICANS: NO OFFSETS FOR EXTENDING BUSH-ERA TAX RATES+
By Russell Berman and Bernie Becker – 05/01/12
House Republicans say they have no plans to pay for the extension of the Bush-era tax rates, a move that could erase the deficit reduction they have achieved since winning their majority in the chamber in 2010. The cost of these Bush Tax Cuts – with NO offset….
Cost of Bush Tax Cuts on households over $250,000 = $54 billion in 2015.
Cost of Bush Tax Cuts on households under $250,000 = $172 billion in 2015.
