I notice liberal Bob Costas and liberal NBC are having such a hoot referring to the young black gold medalist gymnast Gabby Douglas as “The Flying Squirrel”, and nobody in the MSM seems troubled by that.

Sounds just a wee bit racist to me.

Thank goodness we have the ACLU:

Look at who is one of Rmoney’s economic advisers!

Kevin Hassett “was an economic adviser to John McCain in 2000, George W. Bush in 2004, and then McCain again in 2008. One could well argue that his purpose in life is to manipulate reporters on the merits of the economic plans of Republican presidential candidates. After they are elected, (or fail to be elected), he returns to his cushy think tank sinecure. He hasn’t actually been involved in making economic policy since the Clinton administration…”

And why would you remember this guy? Well, he’s the brilliant fellow who predicted the Dow would hit 36,000. “Hassett’s prediction is now regarded as the worst stock market call since economist Irving Fisher declared in September 1929 that “Stock prices have reached what looks like a permanently high plateau.”

And since then he’s gone on to an incredibly terrible record as an “economist.”

#2 Even though we know suzie is just being a racist troll, I’ll comment. As all the rest of us are aware, “squirrel” is not a derogatory term. The term suzie was using for our president has long been considered derogatory. In addition, Douglas enjoys the nickname. Maybe suzie knows of lots of black Americans who enjoy being called the name she was using for Obama?

  6. Contrasuzie | August 7, 2012 at 6:21 pm

    #2:
Oh, for crying out loud. She’s had that nickname for a long time, probably given to her by a coach or teammates, maybe even a family member.

Meanwhile, Faux News wants to question her patriotism because of the color of her uniforms!

This young lady has overcome her parents’ divorce, an absentee father (in part because he served in the Army in Iraq), her mother’s bankruptcy, being separated from her mother while she trained for the Olympics, but Faux News wants to harp on her clothes.

  7. mike O | August 7, 2012 at 6:46 pm

Your beach scene begs a question?
Does anyone color it interesting that Obama closes down beaches (that the little people use) to raise millions at a 35k/plate fundraiser.
Is that just a bit elitist?

For those who hoped for change, you may have found it. The change is that the one elected is now the elitist. (although that is just a change for the most ill informed).

  8. mike O | August 7, 2012 at 7:07 pm

    gdad,
Have you considered the “economic advisors” that Obama has in common with Bush? Did they turn form idiot to genius when they are employed by the other party?

Maybe you should call for their “tax returns” I am sure they will be more than willing to pony up the last 20 years…lol…

  9. Suzie | August 7, 2012 at 7:47 pm

I say Mitt Romney should tell the media he’ll release his tax returns whenever 0bama releases his transcripts.

You really have to wonder why 0bama wouldn’t release his college information at Columbia. While it’s likely he failed some classes, that’s nothing unusual for Democrat candidates. Algore failed at least one class in college, and we know Kerry was a worse student than GWB, whom the libs have said is the dumbest man ever to run.

So what’s the problem ?? UNLESS 0bama was an exchange student from Indonesia. Whoops!http://www.nowtheendbegins.com/blog/?p=10786

  10. Suzie | August 7, 2012 at 8:12 pm

I have great respect for Jamaica’s Usian Bolt, not because he’s the fastest man in the world, but because he interrupted an interview to express respect for the American national anthem as it was being played. This athlete taught the left a thing or two. All those liberals who piss on the flag and the Christian and capitalistic ideals America was founded on should heed the example of a man who respects America so deeply even though he’s from another country.

Contrast Bolt with the ignorant American NBA player, Josh Howard, who said to another player during the National Anthem “I don’t even celebrate that sh*t cause I’m black”. What a pathetic POS.

We have a lot to learn from those who see and appreciate America from the outside.

  11. Ron May | August 7, 2012 at 10:03 pm

Romney shows once again that he will stoop to anything to get elected.

  12. Suzie | August 8, 2012 at 9:22 am

Add the Milwaukee Sikh shooting the list of liberal mass-murderers. The guy has been accused of being a racist and member of a Nazi band. Since we have confirmed in here that Naziism and racism are both elements of the left, it means the guy was a leftwinger.

  13. Suzie | August 8, 2012 at 9:30 am

Rush Limbaugh made an excellent point. He said 0bama has outspent Romney 2 to 1 in the past couple of months, yet cannot budge Romney’s lead in the polls. Campaign finance laws preclude Romney from spending the hundreds of millions he has until after the convention. We already know he has been outraising 0bammy by a signficant margin since May.. Look for Romney’s lead to jump considerably come September 1.

0bama’s phony image is going to fall faster than Stalin’s statue. I’m VERY excited.

  14. gdad | August 8, 2012 at 10:46 am

#9 We could also get Mitt to release records from his time with the Olympics and as governor.

GWB? You mean that coke-snorting drunk driver?

  15. Walker | August 8, 2012 at 11:26 am

@11 – I guess its not as low as Obama? Blaming Romney for the death of woman with cancer. Typical obamaganda! Its like blaming Alexander Graham Bell for bad AT&T cell service.

Anything but his record, right? Good Luck with that Ron.

  16. Walker | August 8, 2012 at 11:48 am

Research shows that the woman in the ad STILL HAD insurance through her own company? The man was laid off in 2001 – she died in 2006? Only and idiot can blame Romney and Bain for her death and it seem we have plenty of those around these days.

  17. gdad | August 8, 2012 at 12:51 pm

#12 Damn, it sure took suzie a long time to post this predictable lie.

  18. gdad | August 8, 2012 at 12:53 pm

#13 Another lie by Rash and suzie. Let’s add in all the money spent by those conservative groups on “position” ads that are really political ads.

  19. dobbs | August 8, 2012 at 1:13 pm

Nazis are leftists? Guess the fascists were too? On what do you base this claim?

  20. Dan Casey | August 8, 2012 at 1:17 pm

Suze has been peddling the Nazis-are-leftists garbage for years now.

  21. dave | August 8, 2012 at 1:18 pm

Speaking of failing classes in college—-anybody checked up on Rash Limpballs’ college record lately. I believe his Mother pretty accurately summed that one up. And to the Suz he’s the greatest man of the century,
right up there with Jesus Christ and George W. Bush. Insanity clearly knows no bounds in Suzieworld.

  22. Ron May | August 8, 2012 at 1:22 pm

    Walker,

The Obama campaign was not responsible for the ad you linked as you well know. Instead a PAC named Priorities Action USA produced and paid for the ad. That group has no connection to the Obama campaign.

My link was to statements made directly by Mitt Romney.

If Romney would truthfully & factually run on his work as governor of Masschusetts and the positions on a host of issues he might actually be ahead in the race. However, he wouldn’t be the presumptive nominee of the Republican party.

My in laws are and have been for years in the auto business. They are as conservative and Republican as you can get. However, they will not vote for Romney because he wanted to put GM & Chrysler out of business. The women are opposed to him because of his acceptance of right wing radical stances on issues related to women’s health. Good luck with that Walker. :)

  23. gdad | August 8, 2012 at 2:06 pm

  27. Warren | August 8, 2012 at 2:15 pm

Hey Walker, hey mike o, hey any other “conservatives”: please explain, why did Mitt Rmoney ask for his state to be exempted from the welfare to work law? Why did Rick Perry, Jeb Bush, Haley Barbour and Tim Pawlenty do the same? Doesn’t Mitt Rmoney want welfare recipients to work? If so, WHY DID Mitt Rmoney ask for welfare recipients in his state to be exempt from the work requirement? Does Mitt Rmoney just want to send them checks without requiring them to try to work? Why did “conservative” Mitt Rmoney try to get his state exempted from the welfare to work law?

It’s too soon for cool evenings, so I’ll know the sound of crickets inside the building is coming from your computers.

“9.I say Mitt Romney should tell the media he’ll release his tax returns whenever Obama releases his transcripts.”

I think that is a splendid idea.

It would be like trading Bob Uecker straight up for a Mickey Mantle rookie card and Obama would be jump on than faster you’d jump on Golden Corral groupon.

“10.I have great respect for Jamaica’s Usian Bolt……”

What’s not to like? I hear he is self actualized.

The Nazis were left wing liberals in same manner that Rush Limbaugh was a scholar while enrolled in South West Missouri State. Now there’s a consistent transcript we would all like to see. 35. old blue | August 8, 2012 at 3:29 pm

I actually hear Rush’s teaser most mornings on my way to work. Even when I occasionally agree with his position, I find myself loathing the attitude he uses to express it.

  54. Sandi Saunders | August 8, 2012 at 8:53 pm

So do you folks not understand what a PAC is and what they do? maybe that explains the support for the Citizens United ruling. Obama did not “blame” Romney for anything, he is not even in the commercial. Much like Romney is not in this ad: http://www.fightbigotry.com/#!home/mainPage

    Posted on August 8th, 2012″

Outside of the usual word omissions and grammatical errors, now you’re just being stupid.  And since when does anyone use ‘Ms.’ to refer to a 9 year old?

Yes, Miss Douglas is brown, without the quotation marks.  It’s okay for me to say that.  She knows.  She also knows she’s a patriotic American, despite Faux News’ outrage over the color of her uniforms.

But since you want to be nasty, consider that ‘squirrel’ is sometimes used as  slang for a certain part of the female anatomy, although a flying one is an interesting concept indeed.

(S/N:  There’s a MiLB team called the Flying Squirrels and although there are no female players, there are some black players on the team. GASP!)

Stop playing your silly semantics game, Screwzie, and stop pretending you’re not fully aware that referring to a black person as a monkey is racist as hell.  You’ve never heard a white person use the term ‘porch-squirrels’, have you?

Just stop making yourself look stupid in your constant need for attention.

Marked Man, before you start, I’ve got several black friends and they, in turn, have several white friends.  We talk about white people and black people as in:
    Me:  ’You know Joe?’
Black friend: ‘White Joe or black Joe?’
    Me: ‘Black Joe.’
    BF: ‘Light-skinned or dark?’
    Me: ‘Dark.’
BF: ‘Yeah, I know him.  His Momma’s white. Go figure.’
Yep.  Had that very conversation yesterday.  But I’ll go tell them if we’re going to keep using the word ‘black’, we gotta start using the word ‘darkies’ again, too.

  65. matt | August 9, 2012 at 8:19 am

    Ohh John-Boy,

Now you’re just telling lies. But, that’s normal.

Speaking of my degree…what was it you said on another thread? Oh yeah, here goes: “Yeah, and it’s a good thing that master’s degree diplomas are larger. They have more of it wipe!”–Lol. Good times. As for IQ average going up…For your sake, I hope so.

    Ouch. Yes. +1 :-)

Suzie, you might be thinking of chipmunks…around here (Floyd Co., at least) most of the squirrels are gray with white underneath. Got a few mountain boomers that lean towards brown, and some reddish fox squirrels, but mostly just grays. Never heard anyone around here use them in any kind of racist way, either, although many of them would say you’re “squirrely!”

(From one online dictionary: 1. squirrely Adjective: 1. mildly insane 2. unpredictable and jumpy, often in a cowardly way 3. nutty)

  70. Walker | August 9, 2012 at 9:04 am

This type of garbage is Obama’s MO. Go back and look at any of his previous campaigns. He’s never had a record he could run with, so he pulls as much trash as he can out of the gutter and slings it hoping it sticks with his mindless electorate. Hope and Change my butt.

Here is info for the fact-less right wingers whose lame attempts to divert attention away from Rmoney’s fear of releasing his tax returns. Could he be hiding something?
Anyway the RWers have replaced their “birthers” with the newly and unimproved, “transcipters” – all with their “faux hair on fire” urgency.

The charge that the president got bad grades 30 years ago doesn’t hold water, however: Biographer David Maraniss says Obama got a 3.7 GPA at Columbia and GRADUATED MAGNA CUM LAUDE from Harvard Law, SOMETHING YOU CAN’T DO WITH BAD GRADES.

The play to shame Obama into releasing his college grades “is nothing more than a pathetically desperate effort to find something, anything that they can use against him in the upcoming election,” says Doug Mataconis of “Outside the Beltway”. It’s part of the Right’s effort to “vet” Obama, four years after the media made him “one of the most vetted presidential candidates in recent memory.”

“…”foreign exchange student” theory is part of the claim that Obama isn’t really American. Indeed, this “irrelevant nonsense about college transcripts… has been a central part of birtherism from the beginning,

“They have more of it wipe!”–Lol.”

Nah, the more I think about it, you are definitely the most pompous master’s degree strutter I’ve ever met. No one should be roped into that with you. You are in a class(less) of your own.

I bet you carry the little pocket-sized version of the diploma too.

  76. gdad | August 9, 2012 at 12:01 pm

$50 I’m betting that you’ve also driven under the influence, suzie. Ever had a glass of wine with dinner and then driven home? Under the influence.

#64 Contra, I can’t remember if you were on the blog when Malarkey was here before, but he has this ridiculous race routine he plays. Best not to get into it. It’s total trollism.

Nah, if I did that, I wouldn’t “have more of it wipe!”

    Shrillary:

“The charge that the president got bad grades 30 years ago doesn’t hold water, however: Biographer David Maraniss says Obama got a 3.7 GPA at Columbia…”

You do know that this is not a verified fact, right? Maraniss simply quoted Obama as TELLING him he earned a 3.7 GPA. There are no facts to back this up. But, I guess we should just believe every single thing Obama has ever said, right? After all, as Joe Biden said: “I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy,” Biden said. “I mean, that’s a storybook, man.” So yeah, Obama HAD to have earned a 3.7 at Columbia, he’s such a clean black man.

“A spokesman for Columbia University, Brian Connolly, confirmed that Mr. Obama spent two years at Columbia College and graduated in 1983 with a major in political science. He did not receive honors, Mr. Connolly said, though specific information on his grades is sealed.” Any idea what graduating without honors means? Almost all universities start the Latin Honors system at 3.4 or higher. So, if Columbia is saying he did not graduate with honors, we can logically infer that Obama’s best possible GPA percentage would have been a 3.3. So, IF Obama’s GPA was a 3.3, or even the 3.7 that Maraniss claims, how did he possibly get into what is probably the toughest law school in the entire country?? American students with 4.0s from all races and socio-economic backgrounds are constantly rejected from Harvard. So, how was Obama able to pull that off, again, IF his GPA was a 3.3 or 3.7??? Oh yeah, that’s right…because he is so clean. It all makes sense now…

  80. Marked Man | August 9, 2012 at 3:43 pm

Wow, granddad gets ‘influenced’ from one glass of wine??

    What an extreme lightweight….

  81. gdad | August 10, 2012 at 12:02 am

#77 Considering that I don’t drink, Malarkey, one glass probably would have an influence. But the fact remains, any amount of alcohol or drug means you’re driving under the influence of it. You might not be dangerous and you might not be drunk and you might be under the legal limit, but you”re under the influence.

  82. Ron May | August 10, 2012 at 5:44 am

    Matt,

As an undergraduate student, admittedly prior to Pres. Obama, I earned an associate degree from a junior college and then transferred to a senior college to complete my bachelor’s degree. Not than I was an honors student, but I was informed upon transfer that I was not eligible for honors upon graduation because I had not spent at least 4 years at that college. Some colleges & universities permitted transfer students to earn honors at graduation & some did not. I don’t know if Columbia College was one of those during Pres. Obama’s time there or not. I’m just suggesting that there may be an alternative explanation. Additionally, if you read the quote from the college website I provide below, you will notice that GPA is not the only factor at Columbia. You will also note that honors are limited to a certain percentage of the graduating class.

A statement from the Columbia College of Columbia University website.

“The Bachelor of Arts degree is awarded with honors in three categories (cum laude, magna cum laude, summa cum laude) to no more than 25 percent of the graduating class, with no more than 5 percent summa cum laude, and the total of summa and magna cum laude not exceeding 15 percent. College honors is the highest academic recognition awarded by the College. The Committee on Honors, Awards, and Prizes reviews the academic records of the top 35% of the graduating class. Selection is based not on GPA alone, but on the breadth, depth and high quality of academic achievement, departmental recommendations, and outstanding academic work beyond that which is required for the degree. Students may not apply for honors nor may they solicit faculty for recommendations in this process.”

$50 I’m betting that you’ve also driven under the influence, suzie. Ever had a glass of wine with dinner and then driven home? Under the influence.

You lose again like you always do. I almost never drink. Maybe half a beer a year. So nope. I was never a serial abuser like your president.

Jeez, ‘conversing’ with himself. This charade has gotten unbearably ridiculous.

  85. Shrillary | August 10, 2012 at 9:12 am

matt@76 – the book you are referring to was a well sourced book. Pick it up sometime and read the source list. Please stop the foolishness about grades so long ago. I don’t know about you, but the grade I received in Algebra a long time ago never made an iota of difference in my successful career choice… how about you, ever receive a poor grade? geez, grow up.

I will repeat myself: President Obama “GRADUATED MAGNA CUM LAUDE from Harvard Law, SOMETHING YOU CAN’T DO WITH BAD GRADES.”

Were you this worried about grades with George W. Bush? Did you call for his transcripts? You are either a racist or have swallowed some of the teabaggers poison… Stop the ridiculous diversionary tactic, and post something important…like -’what the heck is Romney hiding that he can’t or won’t release his tax returns?

Fictional women don’t drink, fictionally, of course. Suze the dude probably has had 3 or more DUIs.

  87. matt | August 10, 2012 at 3:06 pm

    Good stuff, Ron.
It’s nice to see someone on this thread bring up counter-points without all of the anger and vitriol. You may have a point when it comes to Obama being a transfer student. As you say, I do not know if this is Columbia’s policy or not. It very well could be the one reason that explains Obama’s lack of graduating without honors from Columbia. But, why wouldnt the spokesman from Columbia that I quoted above have made it a point to say that Obama was ineligible for honors? Especially when honors was a central theme of his statement? Oh, well. Personally, I transferred from a community college to a 4-year University and was able to graduate with honors, but I realize each school may have a different policy.

The quote that you posted basically proves my point (IMO). We certainly can surmise that Obama graduated in the top 25% of his class at Columbia, right? I mean, all we have ever heard is how incredibly brilliant he is and that he is the most intellectual president of our time. So, if he wasn’t even in the top 25% at Columbia, then how the heck did he get into the toughest law school in the entire country? Plus, let’s take Marannis at his word and trust that Obama told him that he finished with a 3.7 at Columbia. A 3.7 is VERY weak when applying to the top law school in the country. Like I said in my earlier post, the vast majority of students rejected from Harvard have 4.0s… Unfortunately, I think we both know where this leads…

  88. Suzie | August 10, 2012 at 3:08 pm

Fictional women don’t drink, fictionally, of course. Suze the dude probably has had 3 or more DUIs.

Looks like Dan is covering Poodle’s shtick since Poodle slinked away from the blog in embarrassment after he failed to show at the track. It’s funny you got all these known frauds in here like Gdad/Contra, but Dan leaves those alone.

  89. Suzie | August 10, 2012 at 3:20 pm

I am SO glad I wasn’t on so strung out on drugs during my young adult years that I spent hours in the library trying to figure out how to make a meth lab. Also proud to finish college in less than four years instead of, like, ten.

  90. Marked Man | August 10, 2012 at 3:27 pm

Data from granddad showing that 0.000000000000001 oz. of alcohol distinctly can influence you is forthcoming…. riiiight. Don’t hold your breath everyone.

  91. matt | August 10, 2012 at 3:31 pm

    Umm…Shrillary,

“…the book you are referring to was a well sourced book. Pick it up sometime and read the source list.”

Lol. This statement is just silly. Pick up a book by Glenn Beck sometime. There are usually 50 pages worth of citations and sources listed at the back of the text. I guess, to use your logic, that means everything Glenn Beck has ever written is fact…because he uses so many sources. Yikes.

I didnt have to call for Bush’s grades…they were already out there one way or another. And he did end up having a higher GPA at Yale than ol’ John Kerry, didn’t he?

And this discussion was not meant to divert attention. I was simply commenting on a post YOU made. Personally, I don’t think we ever need to see any candidates tax info, Republican or Democrat. As long as the IRS has determined that each man has followed the law and paid what he was required to pay, I don’t feel it’s anyone else’s business.

Speaking of a diversionary tactic. Isn’t that what you libs are doing with Romney’s taxes? Since, ya know, you can’t actually talk about Obama’s wonderful record of success over the past 4 years? The whole over 8% unemployment for his ENTIRE presidency (after promising to have the economy turned around in 3 years), the 5 trillion in new debt and major economic failings like Solyndra, the dismal housing market, the downgrade of our economy, bailouts of banks and auto companies (the govt picking winners and losers), the highest level of food stamp and government dependency in history, implementing troop surges in Afghanistan (after promising to end the war), keeping GITMO open and allowing military tribunals (after promising to close it), passing Obamacare through Congress as NOT a tax (only to find out that 75% of it’s cost will be fronted by those earning $120,000 or less, a massive tax increase on the middle class), a complete lack of transparency (Fast and Furious/ see Helen Thomas’s comments), class warfare and demonizing the rich, and massive polarization. Those are just the few things I can think of off the top of my head. Sure, let’s not talk about ANY of that…let’s just whine about Romney’s taxes from 10 years ago. LOL.

  92. Sandi Saunders | August 10, 2012 at 7:19 pm

Hey matt #79, where did this quote come from? “A spokesman for Columbia University, Brian Connolly, confirmed that Mr. Obama spent two years at Columbia College and graduated in 1983 with a major in political science. He did not receive honors, Mr. Connolly said, though specific information on his grades is sealed.” I would like to read that article please?

    Squirrel isn’t a racist term

“I see where it could be. Let’s see a squirrel is quick brown little animal. It so happens Ms. Douglas is “brown”/ Just a coincidence, isn’t it?”

    Comment by Suzie — August 8, 2012 @ 10:22 pm

Dear God in Heaven; instead of suz just “saving her money and living better” by purchasing a mere week’s worth of crazy at Walmart, ol’ gal splurged at Sam’s Club and bought a whole freakin’ pallet!

Good for gurl…at least she’s got enough to last for the whole month now. Hubster probably has to move half a years supply of toilet paper out of the Y2K shelter to store it all.

  94. gdad | August 11, 2012 at 12:37 am

#90 No data necessary, of course. One serving of alcohol and you are under the influence — not legally drunk, not violating the law, not necessarily a danger, as I said before — but the alcohol is in your body. Irrefutable.

  95. gdad | August 11, 2012 at 10:08 am

#93 And round these parts, squirrels are generally gray. Maybe suzie was thinking of some really old gymnasts.

  96. Suzie | August 11, 2012 at 11:35 am

at Sam’s Club and bought a whole freakin’ pallet!

If anybody reads Steve C.’s whining rants, he always throws in a nugget from one of his past “careers”. This one about the pallet goes back to job #31, his two-week stint at Sam’s Club that sadly came to an end when on a Monday night after a typical rough weekend, he drove one of those fork lifts off the loading dock and down four feet into the 1 a.m. darkness, costing the Walmart corporation about $3200.

  97. Suzie | August 12, 2012 at 7:21 am

after the media made him “one of the most vetted presidential candidates in recent memory.

That’s a joke. We know what we know about the communist only because of the ne media. The MSM wasn’t about to delve into his radical past or his radical racist or terrorist associates. They didn’t care about his questionable circumstances of birth or his sketchy academic career. They weren’t concerned enough to look into his long-term drug abuse or admitted DUIs.
