This GOPer is OK with deadly force to prevent abortions UPDATED
Some people hide their bizarre and extreme views; others wear them proudly on their sleeves. Frank Szabo, the Republican candidate for sheriff in Hillborough County, N.H., definitely falls into the latter category.
Elective abortion may be legal in New Hampshire, but Szabo doesn’t care about that. The would-be sheriff (a businessman who has never worked in law enforcement before) won’t be fettered by puny legalities. He says he’s going to stop abortions one way or another.
From WMUR9:
Frank Szabo said that as sheriff, he would arrest any doctor performing elective or late-term abortions in his jurisdiction.
. . .But Szabo may have inflamed the issue further when asked if he would use deadly force to prevent an abortion.
“I would respond specifically by saying that if someone is under threat, a full-grown human being, if they’re under threat, what should the sheriff do? Everything in their power to prevent them from being harmed,” he said.
When pressed about what he would do if he learned that a doctor was about to perform an elective abortion, Szabo replied he would do what it took to prevent that from happening.
“Absolutely,” he said. “Well, I would hope that it wouldn’t come to that, as with any situation where someone is in danger, but again, specifically talking about elective abortions and late-term abortions, that is an act that needs to be stopped.”
Perhaps this guy is trying to one-up Rep. Todd Akin, R-Missouri, who earlier this week lectured us on the unlikelihood of pregnancy from “legitimate rape.”
What I don’t understand is, if Szabo doesn’t care what the law says, and he feels so strongly about the issue, why isn’t he out there killing doctors who perform abortions now?
The New Hampshire House Speaker, who’s also a Republican, has called on Szabo to drop out of the race.

At least the candidate for sheriff is telling us up front that he doesn’t care about the law or his oath of office. We see this all the time in left wing candidates and the corresponding heat they get from the right for it. This will be a good study on just how many right wingers will excuse the same when the shoe is on the other foot.
Suzie, what’s more important for a sheriff: To uphold the law, honor the Constitution and his oath of office OR do what he claims or thinks his God would want? I wonder if his campaign gives out WWJD wristbands?
They should rename it the Centipede party. That would give them 98 more feet to put in their mouth. Or, shoot themselves in.
The latest in the weekly clown parade of Republicans in the run up to the National Convention. I hope they all show up in Tampa. That’s not far from clown city in Florida.
Dan
You keep throwing out things that really don’t matter concerning Republicans and Democrats. The only thing that matters in this election is the economy.
I think President Obama may well win reelection this fall. If he does win what a sad state of affairs for our country. Interesting editorial in The Wall Street Journal this morning which shows how tax rates will rise under a proposed Obama budget v going down under Mr. Romney’s budget. My prediction if Mr. Obama is reelected is stagnant growth over the next four years with high unemployment. You all may well get your wish and taxes may go up for upper income folks which in the long run will help no one. The economy is never going to grow at a reasonable rate under an Obama administration, too many taxes, too many regulations and not a pro business friendly environment. What are the Obama supporters going to say in four years? We will have virtually no growth, lower net worth, higher taxes, high unemployment, and more government regulations. You won’t be able to blame it on Bush??? What does it take for you all to see the business world does not want another Obama administration? You all love to have fun and belittle higher income folks and business people but who do you think creates jobs?
I don’t understand the GOP’s eagerness to just keep committing political suicide. How can they expect to change the conversation if they keep bringing it up themselves? It’s like they’re in competition to see who can sound the nuttiest.
An obscure sheriff from an obscure county in New Hampshire has a crazy idea about abortion. So, deep down, all Republicans must share this view. Some are just better at hiding it.
I’ll buy that if the same holds true for Maxine Waters, Barney Frank and the unending Army of Democrat misfits. Do their beliefs represent mainstream Democrats?
The only difference is that the MSM exposes one side and covers up the other.
New Black Panther Party blocks and intimidates white people in Philly suburb and Eric Holder, Democrat Attorney General drops all charges and fails to prosecute because the NBPP are black people.
New Black Panther Party latest videos “kill all white women, white crackers, lesbian, f…ots, blue eyed babies, and dig them up and kill them again.
Eric Holder, Democrat Attorney General, fails to investigate the threats.
Trayvon Martin killed by “white guy” but in fact was Hispanic with Jewish religion. Barrack Hussein Obama…Travon Martin would look like my son.
Maxine, Shelia Jackson Lee….”Travon Marting Hunted down like Wild Dog”
20 blacks jump and beat white guy with pipes and put him in intensive care. When finished they said, Justice for Travyon”
Eric Holder, Democrat Attorney General, fails to prosecute Hate crimes.
2 White Journalist, Virginia Pilot, were taken out of their car at intersection and beaten by gang of 20 black guys. “Justice for Travyon Martin”
Eric Holder, Democrat Attorney General fails to investigate hate crimes.
@4- Seriously. The fourth year in a row with trillion dollar deficit! Lost decade? We’re losing the country.
terps, as to whether or not his beliefs are widely shared, we’ll have a good poll to see. It’s called the results of that election. Of course, I don’t know what/who he’s runnign against. It’s all relative, hence why I’m voting for Romney.
I do not think that the economy is the only issue in this election, nor is there any reality in the Romney/Ryan “solutions”. We all know that the “top down”, “Trickle down” or serve the wealthy first mantra is not remotely a panacea for what ails this nation. We know that speculators and bubbles and weapons of financial mass destruction are what put us here, that supposed government regulation and oversight was AWOL and that this economy while not robust, is improving, taxes have been lowered to unconscionable levels and the bills have come due. For the people who ridiculed Pelosi for the “pass it to see what is in it” ACA to now support “elect us to see our plan” Romney is quite a farce.
The TP/GOP may want to believe the nation is with them when they try to sneek in the no abortion even in the case of rape or incest into their platform, but women voters are some of the more astute and socially conscious voters and shucky darn, you need them to win. I think the TP/GOP just shot Romney/Ryan (who agree with the platform but did not want to say so) in the foot and they will hobble all the way to their loss.
More kooky talk from Texas.
http://www.cnn.com/2012/08/23/us/texas-judge-warning/index.html
Dan, your blog posts reek of desperation. It appears you’re trading any shred of credibility you have left for a few extra clicks. Some random Sheriff? Really? What a joke?
*what a joke! I’m Ron Burgundy?
stevenelson, do you have any real life friends upon whom you could unload your mindless babbling?
If this candidate for sheriff were unique, he wouldn’t be newsworthy. Unfortunately, he seems to represent the GOP mainstream these days. The GOP apparently is getting ready to create a platform plank calling for a constitutional amendment outlawing abortion in ALL cases, including rape or incest. The inmates have taken over the asylum…Szabo is not an abberation.
John Brown, Actually posts like this spotlight a larger problem. While the ratings-driven media is focusing on Odd Todd Akin and his views, by in large they are ignoring the fact that his radicalized views are shared by many other people in the Republican Party. It’s not just him that’s crazy. There’s a whole legion of crazy idiots.
It’s important to know that while your important republicans running for the big offices are decrying these stances… those that pay their bills.. the hidden benefactors like the koch brothers, and other non-elected officials like Victoria Cobb who are directly affecting legislation within their party because they can afford to grease the wheels, while most typical voters cannot.
So Vote carefully. Even if you disagree with Todd Akin’s radical stance, many in his party’s backers likely do agree.
@Michael Howdyshell: Are you talking about the WSJ editorial that mistakenly said the Obama administration had been in charge of economic policy since 2008? (The election was in 2008; Obama didn’t take office until 2009, as most of us know.) The same editorial that goes onto conflate tax cuts and stimulus spending to make the case that stimulus doesn’t work (but, oddly doesn’t try to make the case that tax cuts don’t work)?
The same editorial that says, “Mr. Romney is proposing an across-the-board rate cut, while Mr. Obama would keep rates the same only for those earning less than $250,000. Everyone else would see a huge tax increase, one of the largest in history,” ignoring that “everyone else” represents about 2 percent of the population and that “the largest in history” tax increase would only take us back to the rates in place during the economic boom of the Clinton years?
Yeah. That’s just a great piece.
Dan Radmacher, welcome!
Sparring with Michael Howdyshell is just like old times, eh?
Ugh. Embarrassing. I grew up in that county. Hillsborough County is the largest in NH and includes the cities of Manchester and Nashua, so it’s not really an obscure county. Live free or die baby.
scott, John Brown (and others):
Rachel Maddow had a segment Tuesday night that traces extremists views about abortion from the 1980s until today, and demonstrates that what once was considered extreme is increasingly becoming mainstream in the GOP. Szabo is a product of that.
http://video.msnbc.msn.com/the-rachel-maddow-show/48732520#48732520
Thanks, Dan. I appreciate that. And, yes, a lot like old times.
#7 Yep, you could see this crap coming from steve nelson based on one of his most recent posts where he talked about people having babies and not speaking English. Glad you went ahead and came out of your racist closet, stevie.
Thanks Still Learning! Unbelievable! And these people think they should run this country? No freakin’ way!
“An elected county judge in Texas is warning that the nation could descend into civil war if President Barack Obama is re-elected, and is calling for a trained, well-equipped force to battle the United Nations troops he says Obama would bring in.”
God have mercy!
Compared to the hundreds of thousands of voters the TP/GOP is disenfranchising, the New Black Panthers were just ahead of their time. And Steve Nelson just proved his racist bona fides.
stevenelson would be a classic example of an individual and, more importantly, a point of view (because he himself isn’t relevant) that has no place in informing public policy or national discourse. I’d no more want “compromise” with his ilk than I’d be willing to just drink a little bit of Round Up.
Tayree:
“Live free or die baby.”
While I’ve never been to New Hampshire, I do have one of their pistol/revolver licenses (equivalent of Virginia’s CHP). It surprises a lot of people to see that one sliver of liberty surrounded by so much tyranny on the map of the northeast. Live Free or Die indeed!
Texas is the special needs child of American democracy, Sandi.
Re: the abortion debate, it is VERY important. yeah, yeah, the economy is in the tank, but the GOP owns that one. The ran us into the ground and have actively refused to allow any action on it in Congress since Obama took office.
Bob Goodelatte and his elected ilk in our state are in lock-step w/ Re. Akin. They would absolutely block all abortions in every case — if I am wrong, let those men — men — correct me on it.
What’s more, this personhood nonsense would basically eliminate almost all hormonal birth control use in the country. What? Is that helping the economy? No, it is restricting the rights of Americans to exercise their free will in their private lives. It also represents a major intrusion of government into our lives.
Small government my arse.
Republicans and those who vote for them a hypocrites.
@11 link by Still Learning
Great stuff! How could a guy like that ever be impartial in a courtroom?
The judge in Still Learning’s link is apparently unaware that Obama has no need to bring in UN troops. He has our own military to command.
What an idiot. I wonder if we could talk Mexico into taking Texas back. Doubtful, and who could blame them.
The only issue for the election, as far as I’m concerned, is the economy. I would vote for anyone over Mr. Obama. Raising taxes and increasing regulations will not work, its just plain stupid. Oh well like I said we may get a chance to see if it works. The funny thing is Mr. Obama is going to end up hurting the very ones he is trying to help. I have talked to a number of business owners and they like ourselves will make sure we stay under the 50 employee rule so we won’t be effected by Obama care. Guess what we will layoff! Higher unemployment is coming!
Kristen:
“I’d no more want “compromise” with his ilk than I’d be willing to just drink a little bit of Round Up.”
A barrel of 90% sewage and 10% wine is sewage. A barrel of 90% wine and 10% sewage has a shot in the General Assembly!
Michael, 13 Suns just sent me a Romney poster I think you’d like:
It’s got a pic of Mitt, then:
“You do all the work.
You pay all the taxes.
“We bank offshore.
“Rommunism — Rewind and Ransack”
Michael, no business is going to “stay under 50 employees” due to “Obamacare” or taxes or anything else except the lack of needing more than 50 employees. A business turning down growth is a business ready to die.
Democrat President Barrack Hussein Obama adds another trillion to debt. 4 years and no budget.
Democrats Pelosi/Reid have run Congress since 2007. (markets crashed under their regime and W was President)
Democrat want to kill unborn babies.
Democrat Senate has NOT pass a budget in over 1200 days.
Democrat Congress wanted to block civil rights bill in the 60′s
Republican President Abe Lincoln freed the slaves.
Sandi and Kristen…Democrat President Obama is 1/2 white.
GDAD..the women I mentioned popping out 4 cheerin was white.
So The New Black Panther Party is (who advocated killing white people, crackers, women, blue eyed babies, lesbians, fa…ts) not racists.
Democrat President Barrack Hussein Obama (1/2 white) told NBA basketball player he was not used to be 5th or 6th most uninteresting person in audience.
Democrat supporter of President Barrack Hussein Obama, Carmella Anthony is on video in Baltimore advising Drug Dealers “Don’t Snitch” or you will GET a Bullet in the head.
Sandi, if in 2012 someone can does not have an ID, even the 93 old women then they are either ignorant or stupid or both and should not be allowed to vote. This ain’t the 1950′s in the deep south.
New Black Panther Party is “ahead of their time”…are you freaking kidding me…(no wonder guns sales are up. Smith and Wesson stock up 200% in last year…maybe this year. So Sandi are you advocating Killing white people and supporting The New Black Panthers?
Can not have it both ways.
Love the comments…”ilk, right winger, racist.
Stating the facts. When you lose the debate you revert to names.
Don’t drink the round up…maybe be contaminated with “dirty water with a mix of dirty air the Republican concocted.
The only racist I see is Democrat President Barrack Hussein Obama and Democrat Joe Biden…(only way they stand a chance of getting re-elected.
I stand by my comments…the teleprompter is getting fixed.

I don’t know why not. Bush never did finish that big ole fence, so they could come and go as they pleased.

Obama Fundraises with Maker of Pro-Drugs ‘Stop Snitchin’ Video

This evening in New York City, President Obama will be fundraising with “NBA heroes,” according to his spokesman. Those “heroes” include Michael Jordan (who is also a failed baseball player), Patrick Ewing, Alonzo Mourning, and, perhaps most interestingly, Carmelo Anthony.
Anthony helped make the pro-drugs YouTube video called “Stop Snitchin.”
“Denver Nuggets star Carmelo Anthony is featured in an underground DVD that is circulating in his hometown of Baltimore, Md,” the Denver Channel reported.
The DVD is called “Stop Snitching” and shows alleged drug dealers talking about what happens to people who cooperate with the police, and Anthony is standing next to one of them.
He is also seen on the DVD talking about his Olympic bronze medal and saying that he threw it in a lake. The man he stands next to later goes on to tell how he would take care of snitches by “putting a hole in their head.” However, Anthony does not appear to be taking part in that portion of the discussion.
(Watch part of the video here. Warning: the video is explicit.)
@Michael Howdyshell: Because lowering taxes and deregulating worked so well for the nation from 2000 to 2008.
Do you know that private sector job growth was lower after the 2001 recession than it is now? Bush’s tax cuts and complete embrace of the industry position on regulations (whatever the industry) did not bring prosperity for this nation; it brought financial collapse and the deepest recession since the Great Depression.
And now Republicans want to do it again?
I don’t think so.
Steve Nelson must get so much tail!
“Democrat President Barrack Hussein Obama (1/2 white) told NBA basketball player he was not used to be 5th or 6th most uninteresting person in audience.”
This little nugget of pointless stands out, stevenelson. What does it even mean? Who cares what he says to NBA players? This is just stupid. Although I could do this all day long with your posts, so not sure why I’m bothering.
#33 ”ilk, right winger, racist.”
Hey, we just call them as they are. And right winger is an insult? Why would you be insulted by that?
#35 Probably the stupidest post of the week, especially the comment about Jordan.
And what was your opinion when Romney was at the restaurant of a convicted drug dealer Steve Nelson?
There was a bill up for vote in March of this year in Georgia sponsored by Congressman Tom England – nope, the republicans don’t only have one nut like Szabo:
“Georgia Rep Wants To Force Women To Carry Stillborn Fetuses…Like Cows Do”
http://blisstree.com/live/georgia-rep-wants-to-force-women-to-carry-stillborn-fetuses-like-cows-do-693/#ixzz24Os3LHbZ
@Sandi Saunders – “Compared to the hundreds of thousands of voters the TP/GOP is disenfranchising”. Democrat registration down 800,000 compared to 78,000 for the GOP. Who is disenfranchising hundreds of thousands of voters?

Steve,
Facts and logical discourse are worthless here; get used to the name calling and angry liberal responses when the facts are on your side; it is part of the entertainment (and, often, lets you know when you have irrefutable points).
Dan’s blog is not journalism, it is opinion and he “fairly” acknowledges his bias. Like in football, Dan is the QB, and the others run the plays. I have defined it as “mental masochism” for those who disagree with the liberal extreme.
Input, enjoy but don’t take offence to those who lack a desire for knowledge or broader understanding when they attempt to “shout you out of the room”.
Shrill,
The single most important point is the “nut” (actually I would use incompetent/narcisist/clueless/liar/racist/panderer,or better yet completely inept) person at the top of the ticket for the democrats.
Reality is: are you better off than you were 4 years ago?
How about gas prices? How about groceries? How about your income (assuming you are not on welfare/foodstamps/ EBT…?
or better yet.. do you care about your children/grandchildren (the born, of course)?
Sandi, not sure of drug dealing restaurant Romney attended but WHO cares.
I don’t.
Kristen, Y’all called me a racist. Democrat President Barrack Hussein Obama is 1/2 white…(how is that racist).
Mike O…not worried about being called names..just proves the fact..you lose the debate and get called names. They get upset because I use a lot of cap letters…(shouting…and I thought I was just typing)
Democrat President Barrack Hussein Obama is A Fascist.
To my liberal friends…Hope (and no change) you WILL watch the Movie
2016…Comes out Friday…the guy Democrat President Barrack Hussein Obama.you did not know…
Welcome your name calling but not offended!
I will just stick with the facts.
Rachel Maddow
($500,000.0O in Stimulus dollars to her and Keith Olbermann in ad revenue Versus Rush Limbaugh..who has never LAID off anyone) Can you say that about the Roanoke Times, NYT,CBS,NBC,ABC,CNN (they get a 150k viewers a day)
Recent Bill Clinton (Impeached Democrat accused of rape President) advertisement for Democrat (Fascist) President Barrack Hussein Obama.
Trust me I love y’all! Just trying to show you the truth.
HOPE (no change) You will watch documentary on Democrat President Barrack Hussein Obama this weekend…movie is 2016….(sorry Michael Moore did not produce this movie.
Stand by statements and nothing is taken out of context.
If I am not mistaken, mike O just called the president a racist. Or am I mistaken about that?
Dan,
Just a thank you note. Your newspaper will not publish any of my editorials. The word is 8 positive for President Barrack Hussein Obama versus 2 negative…but you are a stand up guy!
Thanks!
steve nelson, you have just proved that you don’t know what a fascist is.
And you will “just stick with the facts?” Really? What are your facts?
Definition of FASCISM
1
often capitalized : a political philosophy, movement, or regime (as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition
2
: a tendency toward or actual exercise of strong autocratic or dictatorial control
— fas·cist noun or adjective often capitalized
— fas·cis·tic adjective often capitalized
— fas·cis·ti·cal·ly adverb often capitalized
Stand by my comment/facts….read the blog. post 33.
Yes Democrat President Barrack Hussein Obama is FASCIST.
Watch the MOVIE 2016…(not a Michael Moore production)and have not seen it.
So when is it that you all plan to “stick with the facts” and “knowledge or broader understanding” in any discussion here? So far that is not in evidence in any post any of you have made. I appreciate that you believe your talking points and unsubstantiated accusations are “fact” but in the real world, a fact has to actually be a fact to be considered so.
And when you can offer anything more than insults, you might get the same returned. Stop pretending and whining. You made your beds.
Let us know when you bring anything more than right wing parrot lines and I promise to pay attention.
Seriously, does anyone know a sane person who writes like steve nelson? Do you normally communicate in crayon?
Dan,
Are YOU trolling? Lol…
I surely hope you realize that should I make that argument, I would back it up with my own facts (although steve makes some salient points regarding the lack of prosecution in certain circumstances by Obama’s DOJ).
Keep your powder dry… I am sure you have a real opportunity to fire at some point.
Sandi,
Are you suggesting that Steve’s post that the Black Panther Party were not prosecuted is incorrect? They weren’t.
That the “kill white people” video was made up? It wasn’t.
If the KKK were blocking voting places or making videos saying kill (insert vulgar race invective) would you feel the same?
I suppose I am now testing the bounds of liberal fairness. How will you score?
Sandi
Absolutely we will. We will outsource more work. Dan R I did great in the early 2000 also did well when Mr Clinton was un office
Re: Comment by Sandi Saunders — August 23, 2012 @ 7:51 pm
Or does he even understand some of the words / terms that he quotes — e..g., “dictatorial”, “severe”, “regimentation”, and “forcible suppression of opposition”?????
Give me a break.
From Rawstory, Rmoney/No Questions About Abortion or Todd Akin.
#51 “GDAD..the women I mentioned popping out 4 cheerin was white”
What the HELL are you talking about, steve?
You need to either slow down and take a deep breath or stop taking those drugs. No wonder the RT won’t publish your “editorials.” You’re absolutely nuts.
stevenelson reminds me of the unibomber. Except the Unibomber was brilliant and highly educated. He’s like what the unibomber would have been if he’d flunked 8th grade.
#51 And good god I just read over the rest of your post. Crazier than a bed bug.
@Michael: If you’re not doing great now, who’s to blame? Corporate profits are at an all-time high, after all. The Dow has recovered from the crash and is at a four-year high. If Obama’s a socialist, he’s a pretty incompetent one.
Mike O, I am not “suggesting” anything, I am flat out saying that steve nelson, and other right wingers literally make things up, throw in just enough truth to make it sophistry and then try to present the whole as “facts”. It is not honest, truthful, decent or right, it is only right wing and I am sick of it.
http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/sophistry
Actually, he isn’t even subtle. He is just a bad right wing parrot.
Michael Howdyshell’s a rommunist. Rommunism is to blame, I would say.
Micheal Howdyshell: (With a 50 employee ACA kick-in)”We will outsource more work” (to stay below 50)
Micheal, if you are outsourcing or subcontracting work, the jobs still exist, don’t they? Because the work still must be done for the profits from the job to be realized. So if your point was, as it seemed to be, that ACA will hurt employment, your own statement proves that in your companies’ case it won’t.
For what motives will you willingly leave a net profit on the table? Virtually no “millionaires next door” got that way doing so.
Steve Nelson, mike o, and any other “conservatives”: Please read this, and note that there’s no name calling, insults or invective, but there are facts:
1. Regarding the “2016″ movie, steve’s enthusiam seems oblivious to both the background and true intent of the film.
The “2016″ filmmaker has said Micheal Moore’s “Fahrenheit 911″ inspired him, not so much for the agitprop film itself, as for the vividness of the ads that ran on television promoting the film, and their effectiveness in reaching even people who never saw the film. The result was he produced his own film with the intention of increasing Hilary Clinton’s unfavorablitiy rating, when she looked like the likely Democratic nominee in 2008. The group that made the film intended that the tv ads for the film itself could serve as effective political advertising. Because it was an obviously partisan political creation, it became the subject of a court case over what constitutes third party “electioneering communication”. This was the Citizen’s United case, which overturned parts of the bi-partisan McCain-Feingold law and granted corporations the rights of personhood for free speech reasons.
So the intent of the “2016″ film is as much to be a vehicle for agitprop ads as for being seen in its’ entirety (or with a critical eye), and it appears that it has already worked as intended on you, steve. A similar unspoken agenda holds true for the RW campaign to paint the President as a sinister foreign figure seeking to destroy freedom; the actual intent is not to expose actual truths, but to try to equalize the favorability ratings between the President and his opposition.
2. When anyone makes a point of saying the president is 1/2 white, by implication it highlights how concious they are of the other half. Sincere efforts at transcending racial thinking simply wouldn’t use a fractional mindset at all.
3. Steve, The example of not hearing about Rmoney’s recent campaign appearance at the business of a convicted multi-ton cocaine dealer should give you reason to think you aren’t getting quite the balanced information you’d like to think. The hard truth is, exercising one’s right to discourse earns replies commensurate with one’s preparation, and steve, your preparation shows some obvious weaknesses.
mikeo, upon seeing (for example) steve’s or pammala’s posts, you then become typical of the self-defeating RW ideological zealousness when you don’t at least gently inform a steve or a pammala of how their lack of cogent argument reflects on the RW constituency. Of course, this is true of the LW and any point on the spectrum. Having been engaged in the late 1960′s when there were overzealous claims by some far left groups, I can say that the current American climate is such that it is now “conservative” nonsense receiving no rebuke from clear headed people with moderate/conservative principles that distorts American political discourse more than any other.
4. Has this been a post about which you can say that all I do is resort to insults and name calling, with nothing substantive to say?
Democrat Senator Barbara Boxer tells us GOP hate their mothers and 1st wife.
Democrat Congress woman Nancy Pelosi tell us GOP wants e coli.
Gas Price under Democrat President Barrack Hussein Obama has risen from $1.71 to $3.58 (nationally In environmental wacked out California $4.00)
Democrat DNC spokeswoman Debbie Blabbermouth Shultz’s lied to Anderson Coooper. (check out cnn.com interview)
Democrat President Barrack Hussein Obama has taken over 205 fund raisers
Democrat President Barrack Hussein Obama has 46M on Food Stamps.
Democrat President Barrack Hussein Obama has 42 months of 8.1% unemployment.
Just more facts Dan and Democrat Senator Boxer I love my mother!
Hope Y’all will go and see movie 2016 The Democrat President Barrack Hussein Obama you don’t know.
Sandi,
You have an amazing ability to “never” answer a direct question, the answer to which would disprove your angry diatribe.
Warren,
I appreciate your post. The only comment I made was in regard to a couple of I know to be true.
I am not shilling for any movie, just trying to figure out the consistency of thinking from some here.
Warren,
Our company and our (over 50 employees) have already been effected by the few parts of ACA that have been implemented.
We have had to ask our employees to pay a larger share, raise deductibles etc… we have not yet had to lay off anyone (and hope we don’t have to).
However, as more ACA regulations come forth, we have been advised to expect increases of 20-50%. This will run in the hundreds of thousands of dollars and we will not be able to absorb these costs or we would go out of business. Therefore we have few options; we could cut out our insurance plan (pay the fines and let employees go to government “exchanges”), we could cut benefits further, increase cost to employees, cut employees, raise prices… etc… all of these scenarios have an effect.
Quite frankly, I hate having to make these types of decisions, as they not only affect the livelihood but also the wellbeing of our employees. However when the ACA is fully implemented we will be forced to choose a path that will ensure survival of our organization for the best interest of our employees.
(Sorry for the length of the explanation, but it is an issue that weighs heavy on me.)
Mike O, your own angry distorted diatribes and steve nelson’s gibberish are not worthy of serious, substantive responses and I will not pretend they are.
Seriously, you never had any premium increases before the ACA? Seriously? I know insurance companies are blaming the ACA, but I have seen years with a 35% increase (back in 2007) and there was no ACA in sight. It is just not true that the ACA should increase insurance costs. They are gaining customers not losing them. Funny how you can question every move of a Dem administration but trust an insurance company?

Learn something. Most of the changes in coverage do not take effect until 2014.
Sandi,
Projecting again?
You posted earlier that the NBP were “ahead of their time” in disenfranchising voters in comparing them to the “TP/GOP”.
I painstakingly sat thru Maddow last night speaking of the TP training “poll watchers” and the best she could do was compare them to having “police following you” (they were just watching polls) is that the same as people with weapons standing outside polls?

Please point to the “angry diatribe” in my question. Btw.. that is not the only one that has not been answered.
The shrill and angry responses speak volumes to a lack of capacity to discuss facts, I am OK with that as it proves my point.
Admitting you are wrong can boost your integrity.
Sandi,
No angry distorted diatribes or gibberish just the facts honey!
Prove any of my comments as gibberish, distorted diatribes.
Only facts..
Mike does not seem like an angry guy.
You tell us GOP’r have war on women, hate dirty air, dirty water and my favorite is throwing Grandma off the cliff…
Sandi…if you think this is diatribe gibberish then refute my comments/statements with facts.
No one on this blog has proved me wrong…just name calling…”words just words” a quote from Democrat President Barrack Hussein Obama…also called a racist..show where I have been racist.
(mike o…i missed your call…lol)
Mike O..fyi.

mike o @71 posted, “The shrill and angry responses speak volumes to a lack of capacity to discuss facts, I am OK with that as it proves my point.”
I must have missed that – your “point” that is. I haven’t seen one post of yours making a cogent fact based “point”. Please direct me to it so that I can stare at it in wonder. Thanks
Also, hint: you really really overuse the word “angry”…project much?

I am hopeful we can get abortion illegalized such that someone who kills her not-yet-born child gets the same sentence as some who suffocates her one-week old. There’s really no difference in the actions, just the age of the child.
Warren,
Democrat President Barrack Hussein Obama admitted he used Cocaine…is that not a felony.
Democrat President Barrack Hussein Obama also hangs out with Democrat President Bill Clinton, an impeached President (disbarred for lying)..not a crime if you are Democrat… and talking about “War on Women”..he was accused of rape by one and four others filed charges. Oh forgot about Monica Lewinski..and cubana cigars…(class act) Also, BC allowing the sale of “gyros’ to the Chinese.Lippo Group and Johnny Huang and the Lippo group..Filegate, Vince Foster and oh how about his wife making $99,000 ON $1000 investment.
Does anyone care Romney attended a restaurant run by a convicted coke dealer…he must have served his time and is on straight and narrow.
Desperation on the left to defend the Democrat President Barrack Hussein Obama…Yeah the Democrats hold the high morale ground.
Stand by my facts…look them up or tell me where I am wrong.
steve nelson,
No, it’s not a felony to admit you used cocaine. Nor is it a felony, in most places, to use cocaine.
Suzie..
I think the word you are looking for
is decriminalized,,
and no, thats not a medical procedure to
surgically remove the bad part of a persons brain.
stevenelson, what you do to the language on a daily basis would be a felony.
#76 Speaking of abortion, I happened to drive by PP today and nor one of the 6 or 7 protesters matched suzie’s description of herself. There were, however, several dorky-looking guys.
#77 “Obama admitted he used Cocaine…is that not a felony.”
Gosh, steve just keeps getting it wrong time and time again.
Anyway, at least Obama admitted it. Meanwhile, Bush tried to cover up his DUI until he was finally forced to acknowledge it.
Stand by my facts…look them up or tell me where I am wrong.

To steve nelson (who’s 100% “white”, as far as you know):
Where I believe you’re wrong is in (A) sometimes not presenting facts at all, such as simply typing a nonsequiter like “Vince Foster” and then acting as if it means something, and (B) spending all of your effort (at least on this blog) angrily ranting about things, some factual, some less so, that aren’t relevant to producing better public policy. It doesn’t even seem that it’s all that cathartic for you.
How about instead of your current approach, you try making a post on one of these questions relevant to our lives in this area, and which involve a tension between the standard “conservative” ideology and the realities of policy choices (be warned, though, it’ll use more brain glucose than your reactionary harangues):
1) How should Virginia fund overdue road and bridge improvements? Should we continue to borrow money to barely maintain the old infrastructure, or raise new revenue and return to the pay as you go model under which so much of the current legacy infrastructure was built? And should developers who transform virgin vacant land in ways that require substantial ongoing public infrastructure have to participate in those costs to a greater degree than in the past?
2) Should the free market be allowed to determine how much market share natural gas can take away from coal, or should strict protectionist policies be given to the coal industry?
3) Should both corporations and pre-morula stage fertilized eggs have legal “personhood”, If so, what differences, if any, are there in the “personhood” rights of corporations and a newly fertilized egg?
4) Should a politicians’ pledge to term limit their time in office have the same force as a pledge to never raise taxes under any circumstances?
5) Are fees taxes?
6) Is an amnesty program for tax evaders a good thing? Should part of the cost of participating in them be that the tax evaders who benefit from amnesty will be publicy identified?
7) Do health insurance companies make life altering decisions about the care of others based on bottom line profit considerations? If so, is that the optimal possible way of providing good healthcare to ourselves?
8) Should those who receive total government healthcare, such as Congressmen, prevent others from creating additional public mechanisms to receive the same?
9) In funding the U.S. military, how much money should be included strictly for economic reasons, unrelated to essential defense missions?
10) Should tax dollars be used to support enrollment in online educational programs at similar tuition levels as those at brick and mortar schools? What responsibilties do schools taking tax dollars for student aid have to the taxpayers who fund them?
There are some questions that bear directly on our state, from NoVa to Tidewater to Richmond to the coalfields. If “conservatives” like the Tea Party people are not just the stereotype they’ve earned for themselves, but are really about making things better where they live, they’ll be addressing these things instead of just yelling “liberty!”, congratulating themselves on their imagined similarities to the founders, and making conspiracy theories about the U.N. and such.
Re: my previous post: I really don’t know why #8 came out as a smiley face; I guess maybe “seven ate nine”!!!
stevenelson’s strategy is just to unload every fail RW talking point from the last 20 years, in no particular order and in no particular context. Then he levies some ill-advised shot across the bow, encouraging to fact-check his little swamp of lunacy.
If you think I will grant your incoherent drivel the legitimacy of trying to decipher and “refute” its ignorance steve nelson, you have a bigger problem than lack of communication skills, and those are legion!
Mike O, I am not sure what it is you want and therefore have no inclination to find out. I am sick of trying to decode uninformed parrot points delivered by clueless posters. It is pointless.
Your minds are closed and it is obvious to all.
Sandi,
My simple questions on this thread were @ August 23, 2012 @ 8:41 pm and August 24, 2012 @ 6:05 pm.
The 23rd were very straightforward questions, the 24 only asked for some proof of your claim toward me.
And I will answer yours of 5:15, yes we have had premium increases about every year I can remember, anywhere from 1-10%. For businesses small increases are much easier to manage. Think logically about it if we had 1%/yr increases it would take 20-50 years to absorb or figure out how to manage the increase, at the top side of 10%/yr we would have 2-5 years (relative to the expected immediate increase with Obamacare).
Obviously you are not in business so you might think of your own budget, if your food costs rose 1% per year you would hopefully find a way to deal with it, if it rose 50% in a year you might have to make some unhappy decisions.
btw.. I understand that comprehension is not your thing, but I am the one who has been saying that most of the regs have yet to be written, as others have argued that ACA is already in place.
Shrill,
Often times people are blind to what they do not wish to see. However understanding is something you can accomplish if you try.
Wait a minute. Did mike O just admit that his health insurance premiums were increasing before the ACA was passed?
Most of us probably have experienced that. I simply didn’t expect a conservative to be so forthcoming about it. I guess there are some realities even they cannot ignore.
mike o – as I stated in a previous post there ARE parts of the ACA that are already in effect…so that you might appear to be informed go to this link and see what is already working…of course there are still advantages to come through 2014…
Here’s what are already in effect:

To my liberal friends who accuse me of “being a right winger, hate monger, parrot, racist, neocon, bigot..”
I admire this Congressman Allen West former retire military guy..(oh I get it now..the left hates the military)
Thought you would like his latest comments about Democrat President Barrack Hussein Obama…

Question…I like and ADMIRE Allen West am I still a racist, bigot or ill informed or all three…a multiple choice question..ONLY one answer.
Let’s get the party started..the gig is up!
Mike O and Suzie….I have offered a debate in a public forum to discuss my view and theirs but not on a blog.
Not sure my latest post will get posted but asking you to join me.
The debate is anyone on this site against the three of us but I will be happy to do the debate solo ONLY in PUBLIC…NO BLOGGING…WASTE OF TIME.
I am sure the Roanoke Times would cover the debate but I can cover the cost if they are interested.
Whether we go or LEAN FORWARD I have enjoyed your comments.
Blogging is a waste of my time but time is on my hands with elderly parents.
I would love for the three of us to DEBATE any on this blog…only reason I am here is Dan posted my email to the editors of the Washington Post, Roanoke Time and Dan.
He did step up…but think he should take it to the next level…blogging is BOVINE SCATOLOGY..and a waste of time.
Susie disappointed about the RUDE callous comment about you…never met but typical of the left…they can not handle PRETTY INTELLIGENT YOUNG WOMEN…THAT is why the created FEMINISM…Hillary, Janet Reno, JANET NAPOLITANO….(think she is is lez and hates men…just from what I read on various websites)…
My OPINION ….A SMART YOUNG ATTRACTIVE YOUNG WOMEN who DOES NOT NEED THE GOVERNMENT to TELL YOU what to think..
Tea Party on 9/6…want to say hi…semi bald guy at PAUL RYAN’s speech at NORTHWEST HARDWARE…guess what for an older guy I did NOT FAINT or pass out..BUT got A COUPLE OF FREE COOKIES from the RUDE thug from Radford…
Dan,
Re: 6:24 pm
Are you saying that I have not tried to be forthcoming in my answers? At least I, mostly, try to make an honest argument without stooping to name calling, unlike many here.
“…THAT is why the created FEMINISM…Hillary, Janet Reno, JANET NAPOLITANO….(think she is is lez and hates men…just from what I read on various websites)…”
Just, wow. You want to “debate” people?
Re:91, Dan, can you ask for an “interesting” filter? It would those chunks of crap from dripping in.
Being told better, he still pretends to think Suzie is her avatar. As much work as Suzie has put into saving comments and like, she appears to have had time to create steve nelson also.
Dan, do droves of kooks come and go here in waves? It seems like this blog has been inundated with a troop of them.
Steve Nelson,
THEY didn’t create feminism. God did. What do you have against God?
#94 John W,
You said it! Dan’s been a magnet for asshats recently, probably because no one else will publish their neckpuke. Who knows; maybe some shrink that specializes in anger management redirects his patients over here to vent so they don’t tear up his office.
Steve Nelson, here’s a clue for you; maybe Dan just posts your jihads for their entertainment value (which is priceless!). I hope you aren’t suffering from the delusion that anyone here takes you seriously. We’re laughing AT you, not WITH you.
