A peek into the minds of the fearful-of-Obama crowd

ihatethemedia.com

So somehow — I have no idea how — I got on this small email group of people who hate Obama, or who are so fearful of him that the president leaves them quaking in their books. He scares the living daylights out of them.

If Obama’s re-elected, they’re thinking about moving to Cuba or somewhere. Because Cuba, in the mindset of these folks, is a hell of a lot more free than the United States will be if Obama wins re-election.

Yeah, I know. Sigh.

Friday night, one of them sent out an email. His name is Randy, and I don’t know his last name. I have obscured his actual email address. Believe it or not, he makes Steve Nelson sound semi-sane. What follows is his email, including the link to the YouTube video he references, and our subsequent, and eye-opening, exchange.

Enjoy. Or not.

It’s left me wondering if I should buy stock in the Big Pharma companies that make Thorazine and Stellazine.

Subject: The Truth

If you fail to listen and believe what this man says you are putting America in jeopardy. No matter what you think please watch this for 12 minutes. If you still think obama is legitimate then vote for him. Everything that I have been saying is true and in this video. There is no doubt we are on the verge of losing America and its Constitution. Failing to vote or voting for obama will be the death sentence for America and its citizens. Please send this to everyone you know. It may truly be life of death.

Hey Randy,At your request I watched this video and I have a few questions for you. They are honest ones, but I will understand if you feel too embarrassed to answer them.1. The video claims it was filmed at the National Press Club, purportedly before a crowd of Washington journalists, apparently to give it some gravitas. Do you realize that the club has “sponsored” and “non-sponsored” events, and that anybody can rent a conference room there for an event like this? All you have to do is plunk down the money. The Murrow Room, where this one was held, is the smallest and cheapest conference room they have for rent.2. Do you know anything about director Joel Gilbert? Besides Bob Dylan tour movies, which he’s spent most of his career making, Gilbert produces “mockumentaries,” such as Elvis Found Alive. He produced another that hilariously claims British Intelligence services murdered Paul McCartney in 1966 and replaced him with an imposter. Those were spoofs that made fun of conspiracy theorists.

I mention this because given the above, it’s far more likely that this Obama film Gilbert made is a spoof, that it’s a HUGE joke at the expense of the Obama-conspiracy crowd, and about as factual as “This is Spinal Tap.” It’s also likely that the video you’re sending around itself is a meta-spoof about his latest Obama mockumentary.
It was probably deliberately timed to appear around the release date of “2016,” just to sow confusion among the Obama-is-the-devil folks.
Sincerely,
Dan Casey

Subject: Re: Re: The Truth1. Yes I do.2. Honestly not directly but I believe his facts are right because I have heard the same thing from various sources. Regardless of where the meeting is held does not make his stated facts wrong. The problem with the media right now is the fact that they report nothing bad that Obama does. i.e., Michelle’s 16 vacations. The fact that a C-17 flies brand new Canadian made BLACK buses to where he is going to campaign. He flies to the airport gets out gets in the bus and drives to the campaign. Then another bus is flown to his second location and he repeats the process again and again. It is a waste of taxpayer money but he could care less as he has terrorist friends that will support him should he fail to win November. He is arrogant and he uses his position to get what he wants whether or not it benefits the American public.I could care less about Spinal Tap. But I give a damn about America and the Constitution. Whether you believe it or not there are people that want a one world order or in other words Marxist socialism or Communism. Obama has been evasive time after time after time about his past. I would rather he lose this election than America lose its Republic. He profoundly stated in the 2008 campaign that he planned to profoundly change America. He has already done that in many ways. But what does he mean by profound?  Did he mean that he was going to raise the debt by 5 trillion dollars? There are too many different sources leading back to Obama. Why did he perform a full bow to the King of Saudi Arabia? Subservient???? That’s what it means to me and the King just happens to be a muslim. No president has never been subservient to any other world leader in modern history.

Why was there such a controversy about his birth certificate? If he was really born in America he would have no problem showing a legitimate birth certificate right off the bat but he didn’t do it.. He came from no where with no money.

He used people to carry his sorry ass up the ladder of politics and once he had gotten all the good out of them he dumps them. Case in point why hasn’t Oprah. In the first election he used her money her power her appeal to women and after he was elected she called to get an interview, which I assume you would expect someone that did what she did would have an open door to the White House. When he finally agreed she went to Washington thinking she would go directly into the White House but she had to sit and sit and sit like a common visitor until finally she was allowed in. She and Gayle were ushered in to one of the rooms. Michelle strolls in 15 minutes later makes some snide off the wall comment found in “The Amateur.” Finally Obama shows and say you have 15 min. Given what Oprah did for him he should be a little more considerate. But as I said when you have done all for him that you can he no longer needs or wants you. If you didn’t notice Oprah has said nothing in this campaign. Something is not right.

When has a president had his mother in law live in the White House at tax payer expense? When is it ok for Michelle to take 16 vacation at taxpayers expense with just 3 costing over $1,000,000. Don’t you think that money could have been used better to help people in need in America? He gave a stimulus to many companies including Solyndra and others and it went bankrupt a great wasted of tax money. Why is his records sealed at Occidental and Harvard and his law practice? Why has his proposed changes for America that he promised during the campaign not materialized? Why are more people on welfare than any other president in modern times? Why does he believe he is not his brother’s keeper? His brother had a child critically ill (I think in Kenya or Ethiopia) and his brother needed $1.000 to admit his child to the hospital to receive treatment. His brother called another gentleman and ask for the $1.000 and the gentleman ask, “Why did you not call your brother?” His brother said he would not give it to me as he believes he is not his brother’s keeper.

Why is the Obamacare plan more like a socialist plan for caring for aging citizens? Why is he so arrogant like the world owes him allegiance? The Israel Prime Minister called him an idiot and said he knows nothing about the Foreign Policy between America and Israel. Why did no one in a meeting greeting line in Russia refuse to shake his hand? I don’t know about you but my life is worse under Obama and I am are referring to financially and medically worse even worse than under Bush which was a disgusting president whose father and Bill Clinton all believed in a one world order that will not be democratic and did things to put America on the track to become part of the one world order. There are too many people in too many different areas and they all say he is a socialist and by his actions to me it appears that he is a socialist with ties to the Federal Reserve, the IMF and the World Bank all are which disgustingly willing to promote a one world order, a one world currency and a one world government and even lend money to promote “good deeds” in third world countries. He is not the man in my opinion to lead America out of the major catastrophic debt problem that will never get paid off with his spending policies and there is no intent to pay it off as the Federal Reserve, IMF and the World Bank give loans to socialist regimes and to fight wars causing massive problems in every country they lent to and don’t care because they never lose it always fall on the back of the taxpayer to bail them. They never lose money. Read “The Creature from Jekyll Island.” Our money is fiat “made from nothing” and has no value whereas is used to be backed by gold by banks in the amount that the bank has loaned or has deposited in its vault. No money has no value whatsoever because that is the way the Federal Reserve wanted it. By now he promised to reduce the debt and it hasn’t happened. Why? Why was that a campaign promise he never intended to keep?I could go on and I could document everything I have listed but he is a criminal and he has hurt America and its citizens and he may not even be a natural born citizen that is still not settled and I could create a birth certificate as good as the one that he used to purportedly prove his natural born status. Watch the Memories of My Father if you can force yourself to listen to the things that have happened time and again. Read “The Creature from Jekyll” and you will see how 6 men who represented 25% of the total world’s money supply and designed rules and regulations where the bankers would never lose even if a loan is defaulted it falls on the back of the American taxpayer. It’s not fair then and it’s not fair now and the middle class of America has been shafted into bailing out companies that are run so poorly that they fail and then the government give them money paid by the taxpayer. In my opinion he needs to go and so do many more corrupt politicians that are sucking the life blood out of America and its citizens.

Respectfully,

Randy

Hon, are you excited about a couple of thousand getting tacked onto your 2016 tax bill? Even the libbies have to pay this one.

  6. Suzie | September 1, 2012 at 7:46 pm

I would like the American people to be reminded every single day how much their tax bill will rise because of 0bamacare. Most of them have no idea. Why didn’t the MSM tell them?

A family making $30,000 will be taxed over $2000 a year!

Let’s repeat that over and over, so the people will learn it.

  7. Kristen | September 1, 2012 at 7:47 pm

Romney/Ryan are hands-down the most attractive team to ever run for president on any ticket at any time. Both men just walked out of GQ magazine. “A Tax Policy Center analysis found that Romney’s plan would raise taxes on middle class families by up to $2,000 if he were to keep his promise to maintain the current level of revenue. A later analysis that added in the cost of Romney’s corporate tax cuts nearly doubled the size of the tax hike on the middle class to as much as $4,000 for a family of four.”

most ill-informed continues to spread the misinformation it is known for – living in its fact free world – spewing half truths and outright lies

How Much Does Obama Care Cost The Average American?

“The Obama Care Health Care Reform Plan or Health Care For America Plan will cost the average American around $70. For those Americans who cannot afford this premium and who’s income is at or over %200 below the national poverty level there will be a free option. This ensures that Health Care For America covers every American and can be sustained by the people of the United States of America and Our Government.”
    http://obamacarefacts.com/costof-obamacare.php

    or from Forbes:
“The individual mandate section of the health overhaul law outlines the structure of the “taxes” that must be paid by those who don’t buy government-approved health insurance – starting at $95 a year the first year for individuals. Many people are thinking it will be much cheaper to simply pay the tax than to buy policies that will cost thousands of dollars more.”
    http://www.forbes.com/sites/gracemarieturner/2012/07/24/how-much-is-the-obamacare-mandate-going-to-cost-you/

Tomorrow is Sunday, in the confessional admit to your breaking the 9th Commandment on a daily basis – a word of advice, try to squeeze in one day a week when you actually tell the truth – it might be liberating…

  19. Shrillary | September 1, 2012 at 8:34 pm

Bloomberg disputes most ill-informed’s made up numbers too:

“People who earn up to 133 percent of the poverty line will become eligible for Medicaid. Families earning up to 400 percent of the poverty line—about $100,000—also get lots of subsidies for insurance on state-run exchanges whose goal is to bring down the cost of care.

If you’re a business with up to 25 employees, you’re also going to get a big tax credit to help with your employees’ health-care bill. After 2014, that credit will cover up to 50 percent of employer contributions.

Taken together, claims that Obamacare amounts to the largest tax hike in the entire history of humanity—or even the last 20 years—don’t add up.”

  32. Dan Casey | September 1, 2012 at 10:31 pm

“Republican Paul Ryan now says he didn’t run a marathon in less than three hours as he claimed in a nationally broadcast interview.”

Kristen, we are talking about people who consider lying a virtue, if it further’s R/R’s election chances. They have no shame.

Friday, a regular here emailed me a Letter to Employees from the Company Owner, with a note that “This is why business people dislike Obama.”

The letter was phony. The signer was a real person and company owner who NEVER wrote it. When I brought that to the poster’s attention (the letter is an easily identifiable urban legend, dating to 2008) his response was this:

“Whatever it takes to get Mr. Romney in office.”

He doesn’t care if the letter is a lie. He doesn’t care if the author never wrote it, or that it’s a clever piece of propaganda that first surfaced in 2008 and has been resurrected for the 2012 election.

“Whatever it takes to get Mr. Romney in office.”

Obama is ineligible for office because he was born in Kenya.

“Whatever it takes to get Mr. Romney in office.”

Obama raised taxes on the middle class.

“Whatever it takes to get Mr. Romney in office.”

Obama’s actual daddy was communist sympathizer Franklin Marshall Davis.

“Whatever it takes to get Mr. Romney in office.”

Obama’s gonna cut senior’s Medicare services by $716 billion.

“Whatever it takes to get Mr. Romney in office.”

They have now fundamentally shifted the game. Truth doesn’t matter any more to Romney/Ryan. They know there’s an anti-fact on the internet for every fact that exists, and that the dweebs will never be able to tell the difference. And they also know they have enough money so that their lies will be broadcast loud and clear.

It’s an ugly a game as it possibly could be, and that’s the way they’re gonna play. God help America.

  33. Frank | September 1, 2012 at 10:46 pm

hey Steve C….give up already on Wisconsin?

Its not as if your stamp wasnt already

    you.

  35. Marked Man | September 1, 2012 at 11:02 pm

Much like obama lying when he promised the people of America that all meetings regarding obamacare would be televised in their entirety on CSPAN. After the first meeting was televised, the rest were held behind closed doors not open to the public for attending or viewing. obama’s best (worst) virtue is his ability to lie.

Also, it is always hilarious when that womanizer Clinton shows up on TV commercials begging for an obama $10 contribution. What a couple of losers that should make the democratic party anxious to have a good president elected at some point.

  36. Suzie | September 1, 2012 at 11:06 pm

They have now fundamentally shifted the game. Truth doesn’t matter any more to Romney/Ryan.

Right. And 0bama’s campaign claims Romney got rich only by barnkruptiing companies, he killed a laid-off worker’s wife, and he hasn’t paid any taxes. 0bama will definitely raise the taxes of the middle class by a LOT because of 0bamacare, unlike what he claims.

Democrats only lie when they open their mouths.

  37. Suzie | September 1, 2012 at 11:08 pm

I said it came from liberal Fact Check. Are you too lazy to look?

  38. Suzie | September 1, 2012 at 11:16 pm

So can we stop with the all the figments of your imagination…?

It’s not my words, it’s liberal Fact Check’s hon: The middle class pays through the nose.

Ah hell, since you liberals are too dumb to google it for yourselves, here is the link:

    http://www.factcheck.org/2012/06/how-much-is-the-obamacare-tax/

The minimum amount — per person — will be $695 once the tax is fully phased in…..
So, for example, a couple with one child over 18 (or two children age 18 or under), and no coverage, would pay a minimum of $285 in 2014, $975 in 2015 and $2,085 in 2016. And that would be the minimum no matter how many uninsured dependents a taxpayer has.

The tax would be more for persons with higher taxable incomes. When phased in, it will be 2.5 percent of household income that exceeds the income threshold for filing a tax return. For 2011, those thresholds were $9,500 for a single person under age 65, and $19,000 for a married person filing jointly with a spouse. So, to give a rough calculation, a couple with $100,000 of income might pay a tax of $2,025 if they choose to go without coverage.

So there you go, Shrillary, by 2016 you’ll be paying out the ass. Hope you’re happy about that.

  39. Suzie | September 1, 2012 at 11:18 pm

Danny Boy will be paying over $2000 more in his taxes because of 0bamacare by 2016. I hope he won’t be whining about it in a column when the time comes. He brought it on himself.

  40. Suzie | September 1, 2012 at 11:23 pm

“Republican Paul Ryan now says he didn’t run a marathon in less than three hours as he claimed in a nationally broadcast interview.”

Well 0bama lied about his experience on his high school basketball team. He said he didn’t get to play because the coach was racist. But his biographer said, no, 0bama rode the bench because he sucked.

  41. Suzie | September 1, 2012 at 11:25 pm

Nate Silver – sees the race as of September 1st like this…

Oh yes, Nate Silver. He’s the leftwing hack hired by the New York Times who was completely out-of-the-water dead wrong about the 2010 midterms.

  42. Michael A. Howdyshell | September 1, 2012 at 11:33 pm

Then don’t go without coverage. (Looks like the crack truck made it to the trailer park.)

don’t go without coverage. (Looks like the crack truck made it to the trailer park.)

Well, the problem is, when uninsured people opt for the tax which will be cheaper in the early years, the private carriers will go out of business. Shazam! What a surprise. Then guess what happens The gov’t will be there to save the day, and that’s how the Manchild intends to get to single payer.

But 0bama knows his audience, I’ll give him that. He knows he’s got folks who don’t think a lot supporting this disaster. Like Poodle here.

  45. Suzie | September 2, 2012 at 12:08 am

    This is hilarious.

When the good solid midwesterners rag on you, you’ve got real problems. Idiot Boy’s comments in Roanoke will live in infamy.

“Well, the problem is, when uninsured people opt for the tax which will be cheaper in the early years, the private carriers will go out of business. Shazam! What a surprise. Then guess what happens The gov’t will be there to save the day, and that’s how the Manchild intends to get to single payer.”

Hmmm . . . does anyone else spot the flaws in the reasoning above?

    A. At the most, Obama will be in office four more years. Not enough time for single-payer to happen under his watch.

    B. In Masschusetts the private carriers are doing just fine. The same plan has been in effect there for years. Remember Romneycare?

Let’s not forget that ACA was modeled after Romneycare, which was modeled after a Heritage Foundation scheme Newt Gingrich was pushing in the early 1990s.

You can very roughly divide people into a handful of camps on ACA.

    1. Those who love it. This includes many people in the health insurance industry who helped write the bill and will make a lot of money off it. Romney secretly loves it, too (because after all it’s HIS plan) but he can never admit that for political reasons.

    2. Those who accept ACA as an improvement but don’t believe it goes far enough. These folks want single-payer, which would be more efficient and less costly.

    3. Those who just don’t care.

    4. People who despise the plan because they don’t understand it, but hey, they HATE Obama. This includes the listeners of Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh and viewers of Fox News. Suzie’s in this camp. (Pay no attention to what she writes about it — she doesn’t know what she’s talking about).

    5. People who despise ACA because Obama stole THEIR PLAN, a workable one dreamed up BY CONSERVATIVES, and now A DEMOCRAT’S NAME IS ON IT, and they didn’t get ANY OF THE CREDIT and boy are they fried about that. This is what that no-good rotten Bill Clinton did to them in the 1990s, and they vowed they would NEVER let that happen again, and how DARE Obama come along and do it AGAIN? It just proves how evil he is. Romney is more or less publicly in this camp, though he can’t admit it for political reasons.

  48. Sharon N. | September 2, 2012 at 12:52 am

Losing it Dan? Perhaps someone should check your BP!!

You are just doing the usual “Obama drooler thing” and projecting what you do onto US.

The fact that that person believed that one little letter does not mitigate the miriad of lies that Obama has always told, the flip flops that he made…(lies and flip flops that he STILL tells and does)…and the way we were treated when we pointed them out…with PROOF that it was a lie…. his parents meeting at the March on Selma, his Mother fighting with her insurance company on her Deathbed, that he didn’t HEAR anything that Jeremiah Wright preached for the Pulpit every Sunday, that he didn’t even KNOW Bill Aters, he was just a guy who lived in the neighborhood, He never spoke to Blagoyavitch…the list could go on and on. The guy is not only a liar, he seems to be pathological, he tells lies that can easily be proven as such!! LOL

You all didn’t have a problem with Obama’s lies, or how much more money he collected than McCain to TELL those lies to the American People….he even had, and still has, a lapdog media to help spread those lies FOR him…and Obama continues with the lies, and the smears and the negative campaigning to this day…really Dan, he is…Obama is losing “Indies” because of it as we speak.

What’s the problem Dan? Are you upset that this time, the Romney Campaign has just as much money to spend as Obama? Romney seems to be spending it better too….Obama is doing the blow through money and begging for more thing that has been his whole Presidency.

Are you upset that more people are paying attention and are seeing the lies that Obama has been telling? What? We are supposed to be so itimidated by you calling us liars and racists that we are just supposed to roll over and let you get away with it? Not THIS time.

As to the letter you mentioned above…did you have some proof to send to the one who sent you the e-mail that the owner of the company did not write it…or was he just supposed to believe it because you said so? Or because Snopes, or some other left wing “Fact check” site said so.

Further, even if he DID believe a letter that turned out not to be true doesn’t mean that he intentionally lied about it….and how many of those other items that you mentioned did the e-mail sender mention also? OR…..did you do your usual “spectulation” on what he must believe?

Sounds like you have no problem with Obama’s lies, you have a problem with the people who catch him in them. Not all of those things you mentioned above are even “lies” per se.

The Frank Marshall Davis thing is speculation, that Romney nor Ryan have ever mentioned, can’t call THEM liars for that, nor accuse them of making it an “issue” that they are trying to lie their way into office. But Breitbart, I believe, DID find out that Obama WAS a sworn member of the Socialist Party….but, you all want to ignore that.

AS to the “Born in Kenya” thing…Obama said that himself, to the AP when he won the Senate Seat, and to his literary agent, in which pamphlet it ran until 2007 without it being corrected ( if it was truly just a mistake). After 2 years, and having a Decorated Air Force Doctor going to Levenworth, he decides to release a Birth Certificate that has been shown to be a forgery….MANY experts ( who have NOT been anonymous) have staked their reputations on stating it’s a forgery, a BAD one at that…not ONE expert has come forward to state that it’s legit. Certainly couldn’t really blame anyone for being confused, or perhaps tend to believe it.

No, you all would rather cry and whine and believe what Harry Reid said he heard from some anonymous person, who lives in his head I guess, that Romney didnt pay any taxes for 10 years and demand that Romney release his tax records to prove his credibility.

    You “dweebs” are SO transparent.

AS to the Obama taking 718 billion out of Medicare, taxing the middle class etc…well, gee, when Ryan says he has a plan to save Medicare…you all call him a liar. SO? What’s your upset there Dan? You can call someone a liar, but we can’t?

Seriously Dan, you really SHOULD talk to someone…if you are losing it this bad NOW, when you SAY that you are confident that Obama is going to be re-elected in a landslide…I shudder to think how bad it could get for you the closer we get to November.

Or, perhaps you are losing some of that confidence? I can’t IMAGINE why!! (sarcasm)

  56. Suzie | September 2, 2012 at 9:00 am

    A. At the most, Obama will be in office four more years. Not enough time for single-payer to happen under his watch.

0bama doesn’t care if single-payer happens on his watch. That has nothing to do with anything. He said a union audience in 2007 was to get it done in 15-20 years

B In Masschusetts the private carriers are doing just fine. The same plan has been in effect there for years. Remember Romneycare?

Private insurance companies aren’t forced out of business with Romney Care because there are 49 other states in which to do business. Also there are other important differences. RC has annual and lifetime benefits caps, and has pre-existing conditions time limits. 0bamacare has neither.

Actually, no, we hate 0C because it will eliminate private insurers, eliminate our health care choices, drive doctors out of medicine, raise our taxes exponentially, and cause the government to spend us into bankruptcy just like socialized care has done to Europe.

  57. Bill Perdue | September 2, 2012 at 9:33 am

“private carriers will go out of business. Shazam! What a surprise.”

Nothing could be farther from the truth. ACA will be a boom for private insurance companies.. 30 million more “paying” customers. The private insurance company lobby helped write ACA.

  58. Frank | September 2, 2012 at 10:27 am

  60. Kristen | September 2, 2012 at 10:56 am

I look foward to the day “private carrier” health insurance goes under and single payer is instituted. The day we join the rest of the first world.

Paul Ryan obviously believes his followers are dumb enough to be impressed by some made-up marathon time. He’s probably right, but sadly for him, the rest of us aren’t. Who knows what else he lies about…although a quick scan of his convention speech answers that question. Everything.

  61. Michael A. Howdyshell | September 2, 2012 at 11:04 am

    Reasons I hate the ACA.
    1) The law way over extends the powers of the Federal Government. RC was a state law, while I may disagree with it the people in Massachusetts can what they want and I don’t have to live there.
    2) I strongly believe health care is a privilege not a right.
    3) The law is way too intrusive on how private businesses operate.
These are just a few thoughts hope its repelled.

  62. Suzie | September 2, 2012 at 11:22 am

Nothing could be farther from the truth. ACA will be a boom for private insurance companies.. 30 million more “paying” customers.

Sure. Until they go broke from the “pre-existing conditions” mandate—which, of course, is the plan.

I look foward to the day “private carrier” health insurance goes under and single payer is instituted. The day we join the rest of the first world.

Yeah, join them in bankruptcy. Why you leftwingers want to emulate failed European policies is beyond everybody.

BTW, I don’t see why leftwingers are fretting over a guy’s marathon time when most of you lumbering fatasses couldn’t finish a lap without a milkshake break.

  68. Richard J Beason, CPA | September 2, 2012 at 12:38 pm

    61. Howdyshell

    1. The Supreme Court says otherwise
    2. The cost of health care – or the lack thereof, id a tremendous negative effect on the US economy. The lost employee hours, the added cost to pay for emergency treatment of the uninsured, the cost of nursing care of the uninsured, the additional cost of insurance for employers. Health care affects every business and individual and its rising cost is a dire National concern. The privilege to care has been in force ever since we determined that hospitals had to treat emergency care patients. ACA takes away that privilege to free treatment and requires all contribute toward treatment. You have it backwards.
    3. Business wanted and pushed for changes in health care because the rising costs had made their benefit packages unaffordable and the lack of wellness care was costing the business lost employee hours. Again, you have it backwards. Onnly the uninformed and shortsighted businessman is against it.

  69. Frank | September 2, 2012 at 12:51 pm

kristen, what’s with your angriness over Ryan’s marathon time miss-speak, which he corrected…?

…were you as angry with obama when he lied in his campaign speech in Selma, during which he said his parents met (in Selma at the March which occured on March 7, 1965…)…and neglected to realize that he (the one) was born on August 4, 1961? and, obama never corrected that little miss-speak, did he?

  70. Shrillary | September 2, 2012 at 12:53 pm

Sharon N @48 is the summation of a fox-bot on steroids. No facts, accusations repeated over and over become faux facts in their world.

What is wrong with this country are low information voters like pamadoodle, most ill-informed, Sharon N, frank and the rest of the parrots, regurgitating an endless stream of disconnected falsehoods that they prepackage, as fact filled screeds, and behave like they just presented information from the ‘mount”.

The RWers and teabaggers within the republican party – the faithful; the one issue voters; the forced birthers; the racists; the low information voter, the Limbaugh audience, and the super rich – will believe whatever they are told. They will believe the lies and disbelieve the truth when it is presented to them in an unbiased meaningful manner. There appears no hope for these republican voters – they are easily duped and manipulated. It happened under Bush/Cheney, and history is repeating itself with Romney/Ryan. The Medicare voucher plan is just such a hoax being perpetrated, as is the $716 that is thrown around by the RW. The EXACT same dollar value eliminated under the Ryan plan – but demonized erroneously under Obama’s plan to stabilize Medicare – what a bunch of no-nothings.

I hope they slink away after the November election – a win for President Obama will be a victory over ignorance and a win for the average American family…I can hardly wait.

  71. Shrillary | September 2, 2012 at 12:57 pm

The “no – nothing” is not a spelling error. It reflects the republicans as the party of “no” with “nothing” to offer. Of course they could easily be also known as the “know nothing” party for that matter.

Also let’s say there is an outbreak of a serious virus that has a high death rate, should all the poor people just not get treated and spread the virus to the rich. I think I know your answer to that one.

Now go play in traffic you sorry sack of ****

  77. Dan Casey | September 2, 2012 at 2:05 pm

What on earth that has to do with Obama, I have no idea. Ryan is showing himself to be a serial liar, which I know doesn’t concern you but it might concern people not already decided.”

frank, here’s the post from Runners World.

It’s pretty easy to understand how this all came about. Ryan made the claim about a marathon in 91. RW checked the records, found no such entry in that year’s marathon, found a Paul D. Ryan listed in the ’90 race who had a time of 4 hours 1 minute and asked for more clarification.

That’s when the R/R campaign had an “Oh, s–t!” moment and realized they were cornered, and “corrected it.”

Often, when a publication says that so-and-so “confirmed” a fact that’s stunningly at odds with the candidate’s previous statement, that’s shorthand (and a polite way of saying) “we caught him in lie.”

  78. Richard J Beason, CPA | September 2, 2012 at 2:08 pm

    68. Bill Perdue – I will join you for my Dad as well. I often wonder what happened to the grandchildren of these dedicated patriots. These men and women fought for freedom, struggled for labor rights, elected FDR for his understanding of the need for a strong middle class to build a strong US economy. Now, the grandchildren of these dedicated men who sacrificed so much find so many of their grandchildren selfish boors.

  79. Debbie | September 2, 2012 at 2:11 pm

    Two questions, Michael H.

1.To whom should the privilege of healthcare be extended?

    2. Who has no right to expect the privilege of healthcare?

  80. Dan Casey | September 2, 2012 at 2:11 pm

“Also let’s say there is an outbreak of a serious virus that has a high death rate, should all the poor people just not get treated and spread the virus to the rich? I think I know your answer to that one.”

I’m sure some RWers DON’T think this way. I doubt that Terps or Michael Howdyshell feel that way.

But it indeed appears that certain cretins in RWerland believe that medical maladies that claim those who are unable to afford health care are one way nature thins its herd of the no-good and lazy who probably don’t deserve to survive. These jerks believe the human race is better off, long-term, without them.

“I strongly believe health care is a privilege not a right.”

Michael, do you also strongly believe that EPA regulations on clean air and water are unnecessarily burdensome on private industry, as it merely follows the great American tradition of struggling to make a buck?

If your answer is yes, it seems like you’re arguing: “Industry has the right to pollute air and water, and people who are sickened by that pollution need to arm themselves with a nest egg they can spend to heal themselves after the air/water make them sick.

“But dagnabit, let’s also have some tort reform to ensure sickened people can’t sue those industries who hurt them.”

  83. Frank | September 2, 2012 at 2:43 pm

so, dano, when did obam “correct” his lie about what happened in Selma?

  84. Kristen | September 2, 2012 at 2:51 pm

MichaelH, if health care is a “privilege”, what’s your solution for those who can’t afford it. Die in the road? You count on your current life situation to continue indefinitely, unchanged, but were you or your wife afflicted with serious long-term chronic illness, how would that effect your earning power? Access to health coverage? No one’s immune to these things.

Dan,I have a friend who writes for Runners World and a few other online running publications…there are some seriously obsessed readers out there who will dedicate a LOT of time to checking chipped times registered in races…it’s hard to put anything past that group.

  85. Shrillary | September 2, 2012 at 3:06 pm

#70 Frank is so good at re-directing…the question is why does Ryan feel compelled to lie, not only about the big stuff, [jMedicare] but even about the little stuff [his marathon time]. What is the answer to that question Frank?

  86. Suzie | September 2, 2012 at 3:56 pm

I heard this ridiculous marathon talk on the Sunday shows. It’s not hard to glean what they big DNC talking point is for the week. The silliness of the topic illustrates how they haven’t been able to lay a glove on the nimble Ryan. Democrats are VERY worried.

Why yes, Steve N, I can.

S&P Report on down grade of US credit rating:

“We lowered our long-term rating on the U.S. because we believe that the
prolonged controversy over raising the statutory debt ceiling and the related
fiscal policy debate indicate that further near-term progress containing the
growth in public spending, especially on entitlements, or on reaching an
agreement on raising revenues is less likely than we previously assumed and
will remain a contentious and fitful process. We also believe that the fiscal
consolidation plan that Congress and the Administration agreed to this week
falls short of the amount that we believe is necessary to stabilize the
general government debt burden by the middle of the decade.”

    http://www.standardandpoors.com/ratings/articles/en/us/?assetID=1245316529563

The stonewalling of the GOP House can be credited with this downgrade. The president offered $10 of cuts for $1 dollar of tax increases to stabilize the debt crisis. Boehner and company walked away from this deal and we soon got downgraded. Those are the facts Steve N.

God bless Michele Obama for making a difference and educating folks on how get the most nutrition out of each dollar you spend at the grocery store.

Hopefully we have managed the risk appropiatley but hey sometimes bad things happen I will take my chances. Debbie I have never said that our health care system does not need work, just not this plan. We need a safety net but it should be a temporary thing and encourage personal responsibility.

Jethro the Dodo is going to save all our asses each time he mows a yard now. Thanks, Jethro; you’re a real Captain America that way! Why if it wasn’t for your enterprising spirit I’m sure we’d all probably be eating General Tso’s chicken under the watchful of the chi-coms!

As Jethro the Dodo aptly illustrates for the blog once again, the bounty of American’s under-educated hillbilly’s is truly one of our greatest natural resources. Thanks to Jethro and his ilk, the rest of us no longer have to unclog backed up toilets, bag our own groceries (paper or plastic, sir?) or cook our french-fries. The tedious chores they perform for the rest of us allows us to actually work at professions that produce real incomes, incomes that in turn allows us to take a very small percentage to give to Jethro after he mows my lawn so that he in turn can go down to the Quickee Mart to buy a twelver of Natty Light to drink one or three on the bus ride home and then plow through the reminders whileshe watches NASCAR on his idoit box wearing a festive hat he cleverly made out of the empty beer container. In spite of his insignificance, Jethro is indeed a very important component of the economic business cycle. He’s sort of like the humble possum that eats the small bit of trash that didn’t quite make it in the trash bin or turkey vulture that eats the possum that you just ran over, thereby helping to keep our secondary roads free of debris. Do not misundersestimate his very important contribution unless you enjoy cleaning up dead varmints yourself.

    92. Michael – Have you studied ACA to see what it does for personal responsibility. That was the crux of the case against it because it required the individual to be responsible for paying for their care instead of letting the rest of us pay for it. You know, force people to have insurance.

  96. Bob Lee | September 3, 2012 at 12:13 am

It is a well proven fact that Obama was born in Mombasa British Protectorate of Kenya. He was born a citizen of Kenya. His father was a Kenyan which means Obama is not a Natural Born Citizen as required by our Constitution. Obama is a fraud. He is not elegible for the presidency. Just recently his birth record was found in the British Archives. He moved to Indonesia at an early age. His enrollment papers for the first grade state that he is a citizen of Indonesia and a Muslim. Obama was raised under radical Muslim influences. Obama is not a citizen of any country now. He fooled many voters to be selected for the Democrat candidate in 2008. No one knew then that Obama is a Socialist/Marxist. If Obama wins a second term it will be the end of America and our constitution. He will remove all our freedoms in a systametic fashion. We have lost some already. He will demand control of everyone and everything. Think the Soviet Union. Obama is using a stolen Social Security card, a fraudlent Selective Service card and has officially issued a frudulent birth certificate. He has many crimes waiting for him followed by a long sentence in the penitentiary. Obama wants a world government under the UN with him as the leader. A leader with no experience at anything of value. Having him as a Commander in Chief is a disgrace. He knows nothing about the military. Vote for Romney or lose America and your freedom.

    Bob Lee,
For the record, I’ve never been completely satisfied that Obama was born here, but more importantly, I DON’T CARE! He’s been a lousy president in so many other ways that I don’t understand why people pursue all that other stuff. Yes, he is a socialist with a UN-type globalist agenda and no respect for our constitution, so why not talk about that instead of focusing on trying to get people interested in disqualifying him on a technicality that no one cares about. It’s hard enough to get people interested and aware of what is important.

  109. Michael A. Howdyshell | September 3, 2012 at 10:15 am

It seems that the powers that be want John Q. Voter to be ill- and mis-informed. All soup and no noodles makes for a malleable, easily-manipulated populous.

I also wondered about Obama’s birth at first, for about two seconds and here’s why: Hillary Clinton. She was the other choice for Dems in 2008. Keep in mind that she would have beaten McCain, too, as there was no way Repubs were keeping the White House after the Bush debacle. So why would the Democratic Party choose a non-native-born person as their candidate over her? It just doesn’t make sense. One thing that BOTH parties are guilty of is trying to protect the brand at all costs; wouldn’t forwarding an ineligible candidate run SO counter to that as to render the argument absurd?

MichaelH, I actually don’t believe in taking the vote away from felons. To my mind it’s unconstitutional, as is making some tax requirement.

I bet most of our precious 1% would gladly relinquish their vote if that’s what resulted from engineering their cash in such a way as to avoid income tax. Which would leave elections to the rest of us. You might be on to something!

  115. Dan Casey | September 3, 2012 at 11:16 am

If Michael Howdyshell had his way, only people who paid federal income taxes could vote.

    Questions:
Would a person who pays $1 in federal income tax get the same weight, in voting, as a person who paid $1 million?

Would there be any specific requirement as to the number of years you had to pay income taxes to be eligible? Would you have to prove, for example, that you had paid them for 10 years?

In that case, Mitt Romney might not be able to vote for himself!

  117. Richard J Beason, CPA | September 3, 2012 at 11:23 am

Dan, since payroll taxes have been used to fund the federal government’s operating budget for years, payroll taxes have in fact been used for the same purpose as income taxes. I assume, Howdyshell believes these people should be voting?

  118. Richard J Beason, CPA | September 3, 2012 at 11:25 am

By the way, Michael Howdyshell, I missed you answer to my question concerning the use of the C Corporation to minimize your shareholders income taxes and thus avoiding double taxation. Could you repeat it for me?

Kristen, I didn’t think it was even up for debate that Obama is a socialist, has a UN-type agenda, or doesn’t respect our Constitution. All that is up for debate is how many people care about those qualities in their candidate. Sadly, not enough.

    Bill Perdue:

122.”John W, you wouldn’t know a socialist if one walked up and bit you on the a$$….geez.”

I know a couple of avowed socialists. I’m not using the term as a perjorative. Obama simply is one. A majority of Americans want socialism, or at least a prettier-sounding sanitized socailism. It is what it is, Bill. Fortunately, a socailist president doesn’t make a socialist nation, at least not overnight anyway.

Kristen, the UN seeks to disarm us “for our own good”. They seek to destroy our sovereignty. I have no respect for an organization represented by this.

    Kristen:

123.”JohnW, you sound depressingly tin-foil hattish.”

I don’t buy into the latest right-wing e-mail forwards or lunacy of the week. I rolled up the tin foil and left it in the communion cup holders on the back of the church pew where it belongs many years ago. I do, however, recognize some extremely serious problems with Obama that no one dare bring up because, as you illustrate, you’re inviting a dismissal of your opinions if you do. That’s what depressing. It’s depressing that we hit 16 trillion in debt yesterday and no one cares. It’s depressing to think he will appoint more Supreme Court justices who are abominations to the Constitution if reelected. It’s depressing to know that he was about the worst of the Democrat’s offerings for 2008 and yet still won being the showman he is. There’s plenty to be depressed about; my bringing up things the leftist don’t like to hear shouldn’t be one of them.

  125. Dan Casey | September 4, 2012 at 1:22 am

“I know a couple of avowed socialists. I’m not using the term as a perjorative. Obama simply is one.”

John, what in your mind makes Obama a socialist? The fact that he wants to roll tax rates back to what they were in the Clinton years? The country will be better off for that. The people who say it won’t are simply lying because they don’t want to pay more in taxes.

Was Eisenhower a socialist? Kennedy? Johnson? Nixon? Ford? Carter? Tax rates were higher under them.

Measured as a percentage of GDP, Reagan signed the biggest, or second biggest, tax increase in history (it dwarfs the ACA, by that yardstick). Was Reagan a socialist?

  126. Bill Perdue | September 4, 2012 at 9:18 am

John, the “Obama is a socialist” is part of the Right’s “The Big Lie” strategy – tell lies so big that the gullible think that no one could possibly make up a lie that big; therefore, it must be true.

Obama is a slightly left of center technocrat but the right has whipped up this BS about him being a socialist. It’s easier to defeat a socialist that a slightly left of center technocrat.

If you want to understand what a real socialist is all about, check out France’s new President and his platform. Hollande has proposed a 75% tax on incomes over $1mm euro.

  127. Kristen | September 4, 2012 at 2:45 pm

I wish I thought I lived in a country where an actual socialist would have a shot at national office. I don’t kid myself about that.

John, what is it about Kagan and Sotomayor that makes them “abominations to the constitution”? And are they the only ones?

If his being socialist and appointing “abominations to the constitution” to the court are the serious problems you don’t think anyone’s willing to bring up, I don’t know where you read. On here all the right does is whine about those things, and him being Kenyan, and the deficit (a sudden concern), ad nauseum. What’s depressing is that we hit $16 trillion yesterday and you can’t figure out why everyone’s not laying it square on Obama.

  128. K | September 4, 2012 at 3:10 pm

Its funny – almost- to hear all these people calling Obama a socialist. I doubt many of them really know what that means. Probably most of them did not pass 12th grade and the high school government class.

How can the same guy be a socialist/communist/athiest/Muslim all at once?

  129. Dave Hicks | September 4, 2012 at 8:26 pm

    Re: Comment by Rants & Raves (w/ lies) — September 2, 2012 @ 11:22 am

Sure. Until they go broke from the “pre-existing conditions” mandate—which, of course, is the plan.

    ——————

Did old Rants & Raves (w/ lies) just claim the private sector business managers were totally focused on short-term gains, their resulting end-of-year bounces, and maybe their own golden parachute back when that lobbied for / supported the ACA as a boom for private insurance companies?

Did he/she admit that in lobbying for / supporting the ACA those business leaders were only looking out for themselves? What a shock? They were not in the game for the good of the country or even their own company in the long run.

  130. John Wilburn | September 7, 2012 at 11:16 pm

Wow, sorry to have missed so much directed at me. Work has been killing me the last few days….

Obama is a wealth redistrubutionist that I think would just assume have a socialist country, but cannot realistically achieve such during his tenure. Enslaving us with debt will help get us there, though. Sotomayor is an even worse pick than Ginsberg. Sotomayor has expressed that she sees lots of flexibility in the Constitution and that it isn’t “settled law”. I think that runs contrary to the oath a Supreme Court Justice swears.

I’m not sorry I touched the sacred cow here.

  131. Dan Casey | September 7, 2012 at 11:20 pm

    John Wilburn,

First, if Obama truly was intent on enslaving us with debt he could have done a much better job of it. Perhaps you believe he’s incompentent in that realm too? Percentage-wise, he’s raised federal spending less than any president since Eisenhower.

I would like to hear your evidence that he is a “wealth redistributionist.” I have seen no such evidence.

  132. John Wilburn | September 7, 2012 at 11:34 pm

    Dan:

“First, if Obama truly was intent on enslaving us with debt he could have done a much better job of it.”

Really, the compounding affect of going from 5-10 trillion is nowhere near as scary as going from 10-16 trillion. That’s an extremely impressive feat in only one term for someone who want to pile on debt. The checks must bounce someday and it will be ugly.

Obama has once literally said he wanted to “spread the wealth around” and will take all the taxpayers will bear over time and buy votes with it. To spread anything around, does not multiply it or import prosperity. Just because he doesn’t make huge moves overnight, doesn’t mean the boat isn’t adrift. The boat is definitely drifting, but Obama is not the problem. The people who voted him into office are the problem. Obama is a symptom of a society who is trying to buy safety, security, and goodwill with what is left of everything their forefathers worked for.
