“The best argument against democracy is a five-minute conversation with the average voter.”

Donna and I have gotten out of dodge for the weekend, folks. It’s unlikely I’ll be doing much moderating. Hang in there; I’ll get to your comments when I can.

Good for you and Donna!
So when will 0bama tell us why he lied about the Libyan embassy killings? He was warned days in advance and did nothing to protect the lives of the ambassador and three others. He openly lied when he talked of spontaneous protests. There were no protests. This was pre-planned to occur on 9-11, and 0bama knew it.
Answer the question, Mr. President. Americans want to know.
I’m still waiting for any right winger here, suzie, VRWC, matt, Frank, pammalalala, to explain why Republicans tried to keep a legitimate candidate (Goode) off the presidential ballot in Virginia. We know they’re also trying to keep legitimate voters from casting a ballot, but keeping a candidate off???
#2 So when will Bush tell us why he lied about WMDs in Iraq, leading to tens of thousands — maybe hundreds of thousands — of unnecessary deaths?
At least we now see the latest made up talking point — Obama has been intentionally “lying” all along. My prediction — every time the investigation turns up something new that wasn’t generally known before, as ALW@AYS happens in these events, suzie, under direction from her overlords, will claim that Obama “lied” or at least that he should have known this before.
And of course we know that while there were warnings of possible unrest, there’s no solid evidence anybody knew of an attack specifically planned for 9/11.
most ill-informed @ #2 – Did you mean ignored warnings like this guy?

There is however a difference in the meme you are pushing…there is absolutely NO credible evidence to what you say…there is actual CIA documentation on Bush’s failure to protect Americans…

I’m almost starting to feel sorry for Romney. All he does is play catch-up. His campaign is stuck in park.

Liberal Ron thinks it’s laughable a black man would be bold enough to say he’d be the better choice.
I wonder why he thinks that? He doesn’t think a black man should be talking out?
And of course we know that while there were warnings of possible unrest, there’s no solid evidence anybody knew of an attack specifically planned for 9/11.
Yep. He was warned days in advance, but even if he weren’t, he should have had the common sense to beef up very weak security.
Mr. President, you have blood on your hands and the American people are waiting for an explanation why you let it happen.
Sorry, Shrillary. 9-11-01 attacks were non=specific. It would be like finding a needle in a haystack. 0bama had very specific warnings of the time and the place.
The SOB did NOTHING.
Off to watch the Notre Dame-Michigan game at Notre Dame Stadium. Cold, windy & potential for rain.
The idiocy just keeps on coming.

We all know that if Suzie had any credible proof, she would be showing it like she does any poll that give Romney a boost. Show us your proof Suzie!

FiveThirtyEight – Nate Silver\’s Political Calculus
September 22, 2012, 7:41 pm
Sept. 22:
Little Agreement Among Pollsters on ‘Enthusiasm Gap’
By NATE SILVER
Saturday brought a light volume of polling data, and the FiveThirtyEight forecast was not much changed. Barack Obama’s chances of winning the Electoral College are 77.5 percent, according to the model, slightly improved from 76.9 percent in Friday’s forecast.
SNIP
Over all, Saturday’s data seemed like a total wash — so why did Mr. Obama’s forecast improve, even incrementally?
The reason is that we are now getting to the point where a neutral day in the polls can be thought as being ever-so-slightly favorable to Mr. Obama, since he leads in the race and since Mr. Romney now has only 45 days to make up the deficit. This will be especially true over the course of the next week or so, during which time the penalty that the model has been applying to Mr. Obama’s polls because of the potential aftereffects of the Democratic convention will phase out.

Democratic Enthusiasm Swells in the Swing States, Nationally
Overall, 59% of swing-state voters now highly enthusiastic, up from 46% in June
by Lydia Saad and Jeffrey M. Jones
PRINCETON, NJ — Voters in the 12 states USA Today and Gallup consider the key swing states that could decide the 2012 presidential election are now significantly more enthusiastic about voting this fall than they were in June. Six in 10 (59%) are either “extremely” or “very” enthusiastic, up from 46%.

It’s manufactured ‘news” designed to resuscitate a flagging campaign. Nothing has changed since the summer, except it has all gotten worse. But they count on suckers like Dave H. to carry their water.
Leftwingers are apparently just too damn dumb to google in a phrase and find the stories I cite. But that doesn’t mean I’m going to do it for you. Hell, I do every damn thing else for you people as it is.
In other words, Suzie has nothing but right wing lies and distortions…again. No news there. Thanks for the confirmation.
Suzie, the right wing meme water carrying queen calling anything “manufactured ‘news” is too funny. Suzie is apparently literally and figuratively FOS!

Hon, please identify for the whole room the reason you are incapable of finding the UK source that reported 0bama had been warned of the attacks. I found it in about ten seconds. Tell us why even four hours later, you are so stupid you still can’t find it.
Do you know even know how to turn your computer on? Or does hubby do it for you?
#27 And we all know what it means when suzie posts this crap.
Well, it’s obvious that no right winger can take on explaining the embarrassment of the Rethugs trying to keep a legitimate candidate off the ballot. Too busy trying to keep legitimate voters away from the voting booth.
Some days it seems as if Miss Suzie wakes up and pours herself a big ol’ cup of Mean & Ugly.

Contrary to what you say SuzieQ, I have no problem with the color of Herman Cain’s skin. What I had a problem with, and what I thought was laughable was his campaign for the nomination. Additionally, his ideas and positions on the issues confronting this country were laughable.
Mitt Romney had an 8 point lead over Pres. Obama in December 2011. His (Romney) campaign since them has earned him the Republican nomination. However, that same campaign has taken him from an 8 point lead to a deficit of anywhere from 4 to 8 points in the current polls. That’s a 12 to 16 point shift in Romney’s standing. Perhaps I was too critical of Mr. Cain. (I don’t really think I was.) Nonetheless, if Romney is in such bad shape that even Herman Cain thinks he could have done better, strongly suggests to me that Mr. Romney is in deep doo doo.

If you think it’s mean to demand the president explain why he failed to protect American citizens in Libya after being warned in advance of the attacks, so be it. You should be demanding to know as well.

“The Republican State Leadership Committee has decided to stop running an attack ad against Kathleen Kane, Pennsylvania’s Democratic candidate for attorney general, after the father of a rape victim whose case was featured in the ad called it a “lie.”
Nothing like pimping your candidate on the back of a rape victim! Keep it classy, GOP.

#37 Tell you what, pammalalalapdog, we’d be happy to let the typos slide of you just correct the grammar and punctuation problems. But we know you’re incapable so we don;t even mention that very often any more.
As for answering questions, why haven’t you answered mine about why Repubs want to keep legitimate candidates off the ballot. Especially when, according to suzie and her ilk, Rmoney is going to smash Obama? Why worry about somebody like Goode when it doesn’t matter? Right?
My days of responding to you people and your questions with any kind of respect or pretense of conversation, are over. Don’t even bother.

I could not care less about your opine and whining on my errors…STILL CANNOT ANSWER THE QUESTIONS:

ANYBODY GOT AN ANSWER??? DID NOT THINK SO
“45.goode isnt going to win, Romney will, there is no point in putting goode on a ballot,…”
Sorry, this just made me snort my seltzer water. Tell me pammallala…have you ever sat in a civics class that was above 1st grade level? Even preschoolers realize that not being a guaranteed winner doesn’t preclude someone from being on a ballot. In point of fact, on any ballot with two or more candidates, one of them is GUARANTEED TO LOSE.
This is not your usual brutalization of the language. This is a display of complete and utter lack of basic civics education. I’m sure you consider yourself a patriot…I’m not sure why though. And as for your little question…understand, no one cares enough to answer you.
And interesting, pammallala, that you and Leon both consider “opine” a synonym for “opinion”. When in fact, “opine” is a verb.
Allow me fix pammala’s quote:
“Romney isnt going to win, Obama will, there is no point in putting Romney on a ballot . . .”
#45 So pammalalalapdog thinks that only people who can prove they will win should be on the ballot.
Psst, suzie, I nominate pammie for your list of folks you don’t want voting any more.

Dan, I suggest a Sunday drive for you…note the political signs…my
perception is 20 to 1 big R over O. Odiot won’t win in SW VA…and my
guess is he will lose in a monumental landslide.
Susie has a point…they were forewarned of the Libyan attack and, if anything, actually decreased the Ambassador’s Security…both Odiot and
Hillary are responsible to answer to the American people and, in particular, the families of those slain.
As to tax returns…wonder when we will see Odiot’s college transcripts?
Transparency for the left is only one way. An there’s one way Odiot is
going…straight from the WH to the Big House. The corruption, cronyism
and unlawfulness of this administration is impossible to ignore even for
the left! I opine; smile Krustan.
“Dan, I suggest a Sunday drive for you…note the political signs…my perception is 20 to 1 big R over O. Odiot won’t win in SW VA…and my guess is he will lose in a monumental landslide.”
Newsflash for you, Leon: It doesn’t matter who wins SW Va. More news for you: it doesn’t necessarily matter who wins Mississippi, or Texas, or Oklahoma, either.
What matters is which candidate gets 270 electoral votes.
Leon is right. I see almost no 0bama bumper stickers either. I thought it was funny I asked the group here if they knew even one person voting for 0bama that didn’t in 2008. None of them did. That says it all.
Romney will win in a landslide. Nothing has changed. The polls haven’t changed. Neither Gallup nor Rasmussen favors 0bama. Same as before. Yawn.

Clinton: GOP money advantage could still swing the election
By Noam Levey
September 23, 2012, 8:42 a.m.
A month and a half before Election Day, President Obama is winning, former President Bill Clinton said Sunday, citing a raft of recent polls that show Obama widening a lead in several key swing states.
But Clinton warned Romney’s money advantage and Republican efforts in states around the country to put more restrictions on voting still threaten Obama’s chances.
“Assuming the debates are even a draw, I think the president will win,” Clinton said CBS’ “Face the Nation” with Bob Schieffer. “But I think you can’t know because of the enormous financial advantage that Citizens United gave to these Republican super PACs and because of the work they have done and will do on Election Day to try to reduce the number of young people, first-generation immigrants, and minorities voting.”
Clinton said Republicans are counting on lower turnout that will match 2010, when Republicans scored major gains in the midterm elections, retaking control of the House and nearly retaking the Senate.

Poster #53 thinks the plural of anecdote is data, and that the demographics of the posters own narrow slice of our beloved but admittedly provincial area are representative of the wider U.S. What a stupid poster.
pammalapdog, WHY DO YOU HAVE SO LITTLE RESPECT FOR YOUR OWN RELIGION THAT YOU REFUSE TO CAPITALIZE THE WORD ‘CHRISTIAN’?
#51 I’m betting that you, Leon, are completely unaware of one of the reasons you don’t see as many Obama yard sings — the campaign is putting money into ads and other efforts rather than providing tons of free signs. You can get a sign by going online and paying for it, but otherwise they’re hard to come by. I know; I just talked to a campaign worker.
Anyway, given that Obama got whomped in SWVA in 2008, do you really think there’s anybody here who expects him to win in SWVA this year? And does it matter? Of course not.
Poor deluded RWers. Of course one would have to know about statistics and polling methodology to understand the polling by Gallup and Rasmussen, The only polls RWers cite – [not even FOX news’ polls show Romney will win[ – are Gallup and Rasmussen. These polling numbers by Ras and Gallup are considered “outliers” – polls that are outside the probability with the other 2 dozen+ professional polls…Ras has always been known for their inferior polling, For example:
If you looked at Rasmussen in 2010, they predicted that Sharron Angle (R) was going to trounce Harry Reid (D) in Nevada.
Ras predicted Meg Whitman (R) was going to beat Jerry Brown (D) in California.
When the election was over, the Ras poll was not only wrong, but both Reid and Brown won by 10+ percentage points.
Gallup still uses an outdated poll model, and doesn’t poll cell phone users…guess which population uses landlines? Yep, mostly seniors, the only segment of the population which is firmly Republican…
RWers need to start preparing for the real world – President Obama will win, and there is strong evidence the Senate will be strongly Democratic, and republicans will lose seats in the House…better stockpile that mood-stabilizing medication for November 7th. Don’t say you weren’t warned…
I don’t litter my yard or car with political crap. I would think lots of Obama people don’t.

It’s gonna be real satisfying when that SOB Obama wins over that Scumbag Romney.
Me I’ll take the SOB over the Scumbag any day of the week.
I’d hate to be suzie when she has to face the fact Romney has lost the best chance the GOP had to defeat a sitting Democratic President since JC.
Obama will win because the GOP has nominated a Scumbag for President and while SWVA may not vote for Obama, he will win 300 plus electoral votes and be re-elected.
I’m positive the Dems will hold the Senate and just might retake the house. Americans know who has created governmental gridlock. The GOP will pay at the polls big time. Romney has coat tails, unfortunately they will drag down some big regional candidates. I hear folks who generally vote a split ticket are so pissed at Romney and the GOP the’re gonna vote straight Dem.
Mark my words, the GOP is going down in flames come November.
I second that Cold. The Obama hate will have four more years to fester. The right wing will be repudiated as never before.
The Obama campaign had decided quite a while ago that they would put little or no money in political signs. There has never been any evidence that a sign in a yard changed anyone’s vote…instead, the President’s campaign chose to spend the money on political ads that project a positive view of America – contrasting the doom and gloom of the republicans. I think the Obama campaign ads have been excellent countering Romney’s distortions of facts….
A half dozen leftwingers are yipping at my comment #53, but you notice STILL not one of them could cite a single 0bama voter in 2012 that didn’t vote for him in 2008.
LOL.

It’s common knowledge on this blog that I voted for Nader in 2008. I will be voting for Obama in 2012. Suzie loses again.
suzie, the point is this. Obama may not garner as many votes in 2012 as he did in 2008. Mittens? He’ll be lucky to get Ann to vote for him. I predict low GOP turnout, except for the haters, and a strong turnout for the Democratic base. It will be more than enough to squash the scumbag Romney and his henchman lyin Ryan.
most ill-informed @68 – would it matter if we named all of the smart people who voted for President Obama in 2008 that will be voting for him in 2012? Since 58,783,221 people voted for McCain, that info means that nearly 3 million people who didn’t vote for Obama on ’08 will do so in ’12. My fiancee is one of them if you need a real, tangible human.
It took me two minutes to find that quote and I found it from a conservative source. The problem is you get all excited and squeally when you think you have some new bash on Obama that you read right over little nuggets like that. Instead of piddling yourself every time you think you have something on the left-wingers here, the least you could do is vet the information… oh, wait. That’s not really your strong suit, is it?
Notice, everyone, that J.M. White, for all his protesting, can’t say he himself knows of a single 0bama voter in 2012 than wasn’t in 2008.

piddling yourself
Showing off your illiteracy, JMWhite?. Toss in another ‘nickle’ to the LLF..
#80 Sorry, suzie, but we can all clearly see that JM did in fact say that he knows of a person — his fiancee. And CNP named himself.
Why do you lie all the time?
Maybe #80 wasn’t a lie. Maybe she just can’t read.
#80 “Showing off your illiteracy, JMWhite?”
Not according to one of the uses I know for piddling. And that’s the way JM used it.
“Piddling’ isn’t a transitive verb, genius. Gee, we should throw a ‘nickle’ in for you, too.
JMWhite
Next time don’t try to be so kind to her. Instead, use the word you really meant and see how she likes that!
Next time don’t try to be so kind to her. Instead, use the word you really meant and see how she likes that!
Sure. Leftwingers can use any word they want without threatening to be banned. It’s a one-way street around here.
I’d defend my verbiage, but apparently others have done that for me (thanks, btw). I will grant that “piddling” in that context was an informal definition, but it is still acceptable. I can change it to “pissing yourself with glee” if that pleases you more, ma’am.
Wow. Talk about an epic reading fail. Feel free to continue making an ass of yourself, chump. Peace.
SuzieQ, he used “piddling” accurately. You remind me of the time I used the expression “hue and cry” and pamamlailliterate piddled herself telling me that “hue” meant color and I hadn’t used the word correctly. LOLOL
You wingnuts are pure gold.
http://www.thefreedictionary.com/piddling+around
Just because it’s so much fun showing all the things SuzieQ doesn’t know.
“pid·dle (pdl)
v. pid·dled, pid·dling, pid·dles
v.tr.
To use triflingly; squander: piddle away one’s time.
v.intr.
1. To spend time aimlessly; diddle.
2. Informal To urinate.”
Hmmm. Let’s all ponder which meaning was intended by JM. Hmmm.
Suzie, who has defended pammala’s tortured posts now haggling over a “transitive verb” is just so very telling. J.M. White’s most throw away post he has ever made is still scholarly compared to yours Suzie, so the disparaging “Showing off your illiteracy” is just your usual whining.
According to our defintion…”v.tr.”…she was wrong about that too. But it seemed unsporting to pile on.
#84 Sorry, suze, used correctly in an informal manner. Anyway, toots, you really should think more carefully before taking me on when it comes to grammar, punctuation, or word usage. I destroy you every time.
Try me again if you ever figure out what irony is.
What have I said that was worthy of a banning, Suzie? My worst offense was calling you a chump in my last post (which was after yours, btw). If it’ll make you feel better, I’ll gladly apologize for it and any other things I’ve said that have so obviously chafed your posterior.
The fact remains that for all your crowing about the new Obama voter “issue”, you were wrong. Then, in your retort to my comment, you were again wrong – twice. You could’ve withdrawn and found a comfortable thread on which to lick your wounds, but no, for some unfathomable reason, you went all Dictionary Delilah on gdad… and got it wrong… again. [To be fair, my usage of it was as an informal intransitive verb, not the transitive form, but you weren't specific enough to be granted that technicality.]
Still, let me know if you need any apologies. I’d be just mortified if I lost your respect.
#93 JM, bud, suze has demonstrated in the past that she doesn’t understand what irony is and she has a tremendous problem keeping her heterographs straight (even though most right wingers prefer straight heterographs). Heck, I had to explain to her that the preference in American English is to put commas and periods inside quote marks on partial quotes. Which makes it amusing when she jumps on somebody else about what she thinks might be a mistake by them.
